That is my concern too.  They ended 3 perfectly.  Then they ended it all good again in 4.  Now how can they possible end 5 well? This is upsetting.

I hate when movies use TECHNOLOGY to date something.  Part of the joy about the previous Toy Story films is they never dated themselves.  You could almost make it be for any modern time period.

It's an original idea.  Days after the Toy Story 5 teaser, Pixar released the Hoppers teaser.  Looks to be an animals vs humans movie with an environmental message.

This movie idea has been done before many times. I am thinking Over The Hedge.

Supposedly there are talks a Coco 2 will be made. Why? The first one ended so nicely. It didn't need to continue.

Also an Incredibles 3 and Toy Story 5.  More and more sequels.  Reportedly an original new idea called Gatto will be made too.

"Hoppers' comedic tone and colorful animation are a smokescreen featuring a narrative that undermines personal accountability, devalues human relationships, normalizes self-destructive zealotry, and desensitizes viewers to violence. This isn’t even a joke. Hoppers is bad for kids." Source

And our last update on Hoppers.

As of 8 March 2026, Hoppers grossed $46 million in the United States and Canada and $42 million in other territories, for a worldwide total of $88 million.  It will easily reach its budget of $150 million.

As of June 4, 2026, Hoppers has grossed $166 million in the United States and Canada and $221 million in other territories, for a worldwide total of $387 million. The film was hoped to reverse Pixar's low opening streak for its originals, overtaking the lukewarm openings of Elemental (2023), and Elio (2025), which became a box-office failure.

Metacritic, which uses a weighted average, assigned the film a score of 73 out of 100, based on 46 critics, indicating "generally favorable and mixed" reviews.

In March 2026, during an interview with Espinof, a Spanish film website, Daniel Chong expressed interest in a potential sequel if the film is successful, saying "I love the idea of a sequel".

Upcoming Pixar films are...

Gatto, March 5, 2027.

And like clockworks, Pixar just dropped a teaser for Gatto today!  Prior to today, Gatto didn't even have a Wikipedia page and nothing was known about it.  It is another original IP and they've stylized this animation.

PREMISE: "Nero, a black cat living in Venice, begins to question whether he was living the right lives."

Kind of a mafioso scene going on there, but of course with some cat humor.  Hmm.
