Admittedly I forgot about "Forgotten Island." Apparently it is BOMBING at the box office.  Released Sep 25.  Budget was $80 million.  So far only at $50 mil.  Ouch. It has underperformed. It was projected to gross $15–17 million in its opening weekend. The film made $4.3 million on its opening day, and went on to debut to $12.8 million, finishing in fifth place. Reviews have been positive but for whatever reason, people are not watching it. On the review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes, 95% of 111 critics' reviews are positive, with an average rating of 7.9/10.

Yeah, this movie dropped the ball, maybe at no fault of the studio. It just did not resonate with families.

It happens. It didn't connect with the majority.

I bet it will do better on the streaming and after-theater market. People will buy DVDs and Blu-rays, etc.  But it won't recoup all its losses. They were huge loses.
