Has anyone here ever played ATS or ETS2 with that online multiplayer mod before?  If so, what did you think of it and is it worth trying with some friends?

I played it a few years back, and I wouldn't recommend it. The novelty of seeing other players wears off quick, and then you're just left with empty roads. A lot of idiots on there too, I've seen people get griefed and they're the ones that get banned by the moderators. People coordinate to get users banned, and even if you have proof the mods aren't going to look into it. They're too busy stroking their egos and giving out 30 day bans for minor offenses.

Even not being a MP fan, I heard about this great driving style of some players ;D (there are a lot of videos with them).
And the legendary Calais-Duisburg road, when a lot of truckers just like to see a game in 3-5 fps because there is 500-1000 players around (from 2000 on whole server).

UPD:
Well, another paint job is coming ;D.

(Keanu Reeves? :-0)

UPD2:
The patch which came with this update has brought some bad news for me — starting from today, no more double trailer orders from one double-friendly area to another, if there are other countries between them (so, no way from Scandinavia+Germany to Iberia). Turns out, it was a bad decision to switch from this to this for a time, instead of trying at least one 350+ kEuro ride from Sevilla to Lahti — while I was out, they took away this (not realistic, I must admit) ability. Now I can do this only with a single trailer, with significantly smaller income :').

That is an interesting paint job, lol.

Yeeaaah, I am reading about the changes... I guess in the name of realism, I am okay with this.

Well, as long there is a cargo like helicopters, a corner-to-corner rides still can be very profitable. But of course, 4000+ km, even if you drive solely on highways, is a long ride — you get 9% damage for tractor and trailer without any collision (ok, there was some scratches on a trailer, but very minor ones). After Texas will be added to ATS, 2500+ mile rides will likely be available — without shortcuts like a ferry from Travemunde to Helsinki or from Barcelona to Napoli ;D.

Good looking update.

I can't imagine... soon in ATS we will be able to drive roughly halfway across the country.  Amazing if you think about it.  It really puts into perspective how massive the geography of the USA is.  And even more crazy is how varied it is.  That first time we can drive from the Pacific to the Atlantic will truly be something special.

Wyoming is looking SUPER! :D  I am so excited for another state.  Now we just need Montana and I can drive on I-90 most of the way. :D

Well, I-70 still has the most screenshot-worthy scenery ;D, and Texas may have a great map too, judging from how many playable settlements was made for Spain. So, for me Montana doesn’t have so big priority (and it don’t expand the longest route length ;D). Also, it’s a pity we don’t have Eurotunnel equivalent in ATS, so the railroad stations probably will serve only as loading/unloading points, and using a train as a shortcut will remain as ETS-only feature.

P.S. Now you can use a ferry four times to get from Finland to Spain and get the same amount of money 1,5 hours earlier ;D, but in exchange to a half of experience points (not a significant thing after level 36 ;D).

I'm all about Montana and Wyoming completing that route.  It will give us choice and lets not forget how beautiful I-90 is as you go through Washington, northern Idaho and into Western Montana.  The best scenery on all of I-90.

I find it crazy you can take a ferry from Spain to the UK.  Lol.

Meanwhile, we got a first mention of 1.41.
An ability to set the time and weather for your screenshot is a very useful addition, I can say ;D. Especially when you want to make a nice photo of your truck near some landmark, but the environment looks like this or like this at that moment.

^ OKAY, I never knew I wanted this, BUT I SO WANT THIS.

I love how in photo mode the arrows on closed roads are finally gone.

I love taking pictures in this game, so this is a really nice feature. I'm looking forward to some more nice screenshots from you all.

Awesome!  This is something I have long wanted.  Among the ONLY mods I use, I have a camera mod to allow me to move the camera away further from the truck in photo mode. :D
