Seems we like both don't play taxing new games much.  I am more into truck simulator and city building games. :D  So nothing too difficult.

I think it's time we both upgrade.... if we had the money to spend, lol.

I'm running old stuff on my PC too.  The last update was a video card in 2015.  Everything else is older, lol.

My newest computer is an iMac from 2017, which runs ATS and ETS2 with zero issues, but I worry with all these new updates I might start seeing stutter or lag.

I used to be able to play this game on the "high" setting, but over time, I've had to put more and more settings at "medium."  :P

Oh, there was almost 1,5 years since second stage of remaking the German part of map has been completed, and there were so much good upgrades in other parts of the game, so not all of people even noticed the huge gap between second and upcoming third stage (compare with 9 months between 1.32 and 1.35). So, this year’s upgrades like new garage menu features, new sound engine and lowboys were really good distraction ;D and the map upgrade team worked without hearing a constant whining «Wheeen?», «Wheeen?»... from ungrateful gamers. Of course, ATS had even bigger progress, that’s why all of us voted for it.
But ETS team also may hold a surprise in the pocket.
<wishful thinking ahead>
...like Renault Tuning Pack...

...or even Ford F-Max ;D

I can't wait to actually WANT to drive through Germany.  I've avoided the old map for so long.

Speaking of newer maps... I bought the France DLC, yet I never really drove through it.  Am I the only one who hasn't?

You are kidding. :o
The most balanced part of the map, it’s «must have» DLC. And it’s four year old!

P.S. It’s like me with a Special Transport DLC, lol!

I have all the DLC and I too haven't driven through most of southern France (in the game).

*Raises hand*

Interesting. Since Bordeaux and Toulouse have very profitable garages (and you can drive there fast, even on secondary roads), last two years I start the new games in their area, so routes to (for example) Italy and Turkey are mostly run through the southern part of France, so it’s impossible to miss this area. Also, those lands look really good even without mountains — so, it’s a good place for both newbies and pros — nice scenery, no difficult roads (well, if roundabouts and toll booths aren’t pissing you off ;D), and a good profitability due to their location close to the (temporary ;)) end of the map.
So, where are your favorite garages?

In ETS2 my garages are as follows.  I haven't bought a new one in a very long time.  The one's that make me the most money are Le Harve, Karlskrona, Malmo, and Felizstowe.

Le Harve
Felixstowe
Roscoff
Gdansk
Karlskrona
Stavanger
Malmo
Bern
Ancona

My favorite one though based on the scenery might be Ancona.  I hate getting there, but I love the dirty, industrial look and the waterfront location.  The elevated road is neat getting there too.  I also like the town of Karlskrona.  Also not the best one to get to, but i love the small feel and neighborhoods I drive through.  Seems like a nice town that I might want to live in.  Haha.

The bad thing in garages from France’s south is that some bases (like in all post-Scandinavia DLC maps) may be very far from you.
St.-Petersbourg can easily have bases with almost 150 km between them, and sometimes it makes me sad.

The Germany rebuild looks fantastic so far.  I can't wait to drive into the cities and not have them be all so similar and actually look more like the real thing.  The scenery looks great too.

I always read through the comments of the blog posts and it makes me so upset how demanding and unthankful so many of the fans are.  They just keep demanding this and demanding that.  Wanting new trucks, etc.  They don't even appreciate the work being done.  Why are people so rude and ungrateful? I noticed someone in the comments even called out the "ETS2 babies" who continually "complain and whine."  It got many upvotes, even from ETS2 fans who agreed.

The small team working on Germany are doing super.  I commented and said that in the blog post too. :)  We can only hope this dedicated small team will work on other parts of the old map too, then just do continual updates to areas that change over time.

Then someday far in the future when SCS makes ETS3 and ATS2, they will have the whole map already made! Haha, maybe by then it will just be called Truck Simulator World! Then they can just focus on smaller updates, gameplay changes, and game engine upgrades! It's easier to work on all that when the whole world is already done.

I usually don't have time for very long drives, which is a time constraint on my part.  So I usually have to accept smaller journeys, not journeys across all of Europe. :D  So I do like the smaller countries to drive through too.  I will have to get to France though.  I want to see all the roads I haven't seen.

Why are people so rude and ungrateful?

Because they weren't raised right or don't have know how to be unselfish. It's really unfortunate and I hate SCS having to read that.  They really are a good company compared to so many.

I mean... can you imagine Ubisoft making blog posts and talking with their community like this?  Could you even imagine them updating their games and adding more to content bought YEARS ago?  Hahaha!

No.

SCS is one of a kind and built on good moral character.
