After months of news from European maps, the developers have reminded that California is not forgotten ;D.

I don't remember who said it, but someone said we'd be hearing about California soon.  They were right.  Do you have insider intel?  lol They've been right about a lot of this stuff.

Mine is just guessing though.  I just based it off loose ends and hints from SCS.  I was even wrong how I worded the California part. ;D

I think MasterX and Captain F have some collusion going on.  ;D

The blog post by SCS was pretty small.  Not a lot of photos.  Nothing that wow'd me.

What I personally find exciting is that Phase 3 of California will actually include two new cities!  One is Modesto and the other hasn't been named officially yet.  Oakdale will disappear from the game, so grab your fill of Oakdale before it disappears.  Oakdale gave us so much like.... um.... a gas station and a farm.  Oh, and we will essentially be getting a whole new Oakland as well.  So that is technically another city since in the game currently, Oakland doesn't really exist other than a seaport with a horrible road entry (Which makes no sense for all the truckers who would need to enter it).

Any guesses on what the unknown new city/town may be?

I recently started to get excited about the West Balkans update after exploring the region more on Google Earth and reading histories from .... wikipedia.... lol.

I am really excited for more reworked California!  Plus we have Kansas and Oklahoma soon too! :D So much to look forward to in terms of new roads and places to explore! We are technically reaching the CENTER of the United States here in terms of geography.

Lake Tahoe?  Monterey? Susanville?

Santa Ana or Anaheim?  Is that too far south for this update?

Okay, how about... SAN JOSE.    On the tiny side, I have Bishop, CA across from the Sierra Nevada Mountains.

I truly think it is San Jose.  I am sure how they are going to fit everything in there since it is such an urban area.  They've definitely improved how they make urban areas.  I mean look at how empty Portland's metro or Seattle's is compared to the new parts of the map.  They just made tall freeway barriers in the past with trees.  You had no indication you were in a metropolitan area of millions of people in the past.  They've already improved this so much with the second phase of the California rework.  I am sure they will do it here.  I saw on the stream they are moving Stockton east and redoing Highway 99 AGAIN After changing it in phase 2. ;D  So if they do this, remove Oakdale, add Modesto, etc, they essentially will have room to squeeze in San Jose.  I am not sure how they will squeeze Oakland in there with it's downtown and seaport.  I assume we will still only access Oakland's port and just drive by the downtown skyline but have no access to things within Oakland besides the port.

The thing none of us are talking about is how they are also going to be redoing the most iconic part of the Bay Area.... SAN FRANCISCO.  Yes.  They are redoing the city of SF!  It sort of flies under the radar but that is a huge thing to redo.  I actually think much of that still holds up pretty good compared to others parts of the map, but I am excited how they will change the city of San Francisco.

Yes, yes.  Exactly right on their development plans.  They shared some of this in the latest ATS stream.  It was very insightful.  I am really curious how they will rebuild San Francisco, Oakland, and San Jose.  I think we will see some 'Elon Musk' related business for delivering high tech bits.  I think your assessment to how Oakland will be portrayed is correct as well.  San Jose's skyline might also only be something we see while driving by it.  No direct downtown access, but some access to a warehouse district near Silicon Valley.

^ Interesting info boys.  I think they are missing a lot of roadways between Barstow and Carson City.  That entire mountains region has next to no roads in-game.

You are right.  There also isn't a whole lot out that way.  Mountainous to the north and open desert similar to Nevada south.
