We can only hope snow or different seasons becomes a thing by the time we see these northern reaches, but it is highly unlikely.  Considering how each set piece is hand made, they don't have a system to easily change the buildings to have snow on top or for trees to change color.  Especially older pieces.  Not sure if they are prepping that with newer built assets and props.

I did not know there were more than one underground subterranean depot in the Missouri DLC.  I just delivered to a second smaller one.

Do you guys realize there have been 16 trucks teased for ATS and ETS2 by SCS?  AP plays it all out again for us.  You forget so much over time! ;D

Lot's of truck news today apparently.

SCS teased something new may be coming next week.  They also teased at the Kenworth Legacy W900, which is going to be coming to the game.  Someone predicted that a few pages back. ;)

Also, MACK trucks announced a new highway truck today.  The MACK PIONEER.

Wow, a ton of new drops.  I guess SCS is going to be busy.

So, the car driving will probably be a separate module for ATS (like Driving Academy), not connected with the main game and developed by a dedicated team.

^ I think that is a SMART idea.   A cool idea as well.

After fulling reading the blog, I am very happy to see how excited and receptive the audience is!  Seems like a very positive idea by SCS. :D People seem to love it.

So far from the vehicles, we can see a classic American pickup, what appears to be a 70's Dodge Charger, and a Ford Crown Victoria type vehicle.

I am listening to the video now.  I am really curious about this.

For this to truly succeed though, they kind of need to add some more roads and detailed areas in towns.  The roads network is pretty limiting, perfect for semi trucks, but more agile cars it might seem limiting.

Interestingly they mention there are SEVERAL brands and each has at least one 'halo' vehicle.

One vehicle I know I see based on the images is a Dodge Challenger, both a classic one and a newer one.  There is a classic Dodge Charger dashboard.  A Ford Crown Victoria and a classic Ford Mustang as well as a Ford F-150.  There is a lot of Mopar (Dodge/Chrysler/Ram/Jeep) related vehicles.  I think I see a Dodge Viper in there too. There also appears to be a Nissan Frontier pickup.

I also find it interesting they said they've been doing this secretly for many years and that there are many brands involved.

INFO FROM THE VIDEO.

Everyone should watch the video, it answers a lot of the questions people have had in this thread:

Road Trip (may or may not be the final name, they haven't decided yet) will be integrated "seamlessly" into ATS, and you won't have separate profiles for semi trucks vs passenger vehicles; it won't be a separate game mode.

You can deliver something in a semi-truck and then hop in a car to go sightseeing. The exact details of how that would be done were not specified.

They are looking to include flagship pickups, flagship cars, older generation vehicles, latest-and-greatest vehicles, and "classic Americana" vehicles.

RVs were mentioned as a possibility but it sounds like they aren't an immediate focus.

They will produce packs of vehicles, one for each manufacturer, and each pack will include a few vehicles for a "very reasonable" price.  This is good as an extra source of income for SCS.  I am all for this.

Each pack will include that manufacturer's flagship pickup truck, *when applicable*.

Each pack will be comparable in terms of amount of content, because they want to be fair to all their partners.

They have at least one "legendary" vehicle.

The first pack you buy will give you access to the Road Trip features.

Road Trip is not available for purchase on its own, it's tied to owning at least one vehicle pack. So you can start out small and build your collection of vehicles over time.

Some vehicles are almost completed, others are early in production, and others have not been started due to a lack of references.

They will be releasing a blog post with a list of vehicles asking the community if they have access to any of them to help them get references.

ETS2 Road Trip is not in development, but if ATS Road Trip is successful then bringing it to ETS2 is something they'd like to do in the future.

^ Great thorough break down.  I would assume this is still years away, but wow.  What a sudden surprise.
