So MACK Trucks revealed the refreshed Mack Anthem.  MACK Trucks when asked if the truck will be coming to ATS said "stay tuned."  Mack Trucks confirmed earlier that their new MACK Pioneer truck will be coming to ATS in due time.

Oooh, that's good to hear. Nice to hear Mack is having fun with this too.  [excited]

So, today the red button is back! ;D

Not a big choice of cargoes for now (I think the cargo market is not fully refreshed yet), so I have found a delivery across the state from the south.

What a deal! For $10.79, we get a beautiful new state to explore!  Bought, downloaded, will drive Friday after work.

On the stream, they said that 90% of Iowa is used for agriculture. It’s easy to believe looking at all those endless fields.

As with other «flat» states, you may want to put the camera higher — to show more streets of town you are in ;D. The crossing with those rivers and creeks are filled with frogs (as previous states like Arkansas) and some screamy birds. Also, the billboards with the next state are already here, I believe we will see that DLC this year — we have more than five months left! Idaho, the first map DLC of 2020 was released at 16th of July — a week later.

In addition to ATS Bank, now we have the ATS Auditorium in Sioux City. I don’t remember is that little... tram or whatever a new vehicle, but the Amish buggy is definitely new.

Since the developers have lowered the requirements for state exploration achievement (again), it’s super easy to get it after only three deliveries ;D.

I need to visit the GREATEST SCS TRUCK STATION. ;D  Isn't that based off a real life truck stop there?  I think I've heard about that before, lol.
This is how the Iowa 80 truck stop is called here. Davenport doesn’t have the service station inside, so this is the teleport point for this city ;D. When I visited this location, it was almost empty.

Also, it’s hard to pass by that red square from the first Iowa teaser.

The big amount of fields has reduced the wide forests to narrow windbreaks (which probably make the windmills less efficient — especially when they are between the trees as on that cow farm). Of course, not everyone has plants on their field — someone has power plants instead ;D. The playground near the road is also a little questionable choice for me — I think there must be a really low speed limit there. Or a fence ;D.

Endless flatness! Thanks for the mini review and update, Tim. I am experiencing the same.  I cam into Iowa from the west (From Nebraska).  The scenery is flat.  Iowa is definitely known for being one of the most boring, if not the MOST BORING state.  Well, it's done, it's over, we have it. It looks real good though.

At least the slide in the playground doesn't just drop the kid off onto the road.  :')

I still believe that Lousiana will be the most interesting state for this year ;D.
In the northern part there are some hills in Iowa... Kansas looks more flat to me. And of course, the trees are looking better and better in every new state. There are one depot with boats, where your truck and the trees are detailed significantly better than other objects around. Unlike the skyboxes, the connection with water surface is not the strongest side of this game engine ;D.

That type of building gives me flashbacks from Hard Truck 2, where developers very liked the cubic houses with pyramid roof and four or five windows on each side.

P.S. Prehistoric Ground Zero! [excited]

Well, I had time to drive into Council Bluffs.  That is about it.  But boy did that bridge look nice. ;D

I hope that square building has doors on one of the sides.

Which of them?

(hmm... with the halogen headlights the new T680 seems to look less cool as with LED ones)
I think the pre-1960s STOP signs would look more authentic in that location with a photo trophy tree ;D.

Also, the dummy traffic lights (with permanent green) from Germany and Spain have come to ATS as well. As in ETS, you can recognize them by their dimmer color.

^ I love your detailed little finds!  I went across the big bridge north of Omaha and drove south.

I did a check in Hard Truck 2 — no doors in most buildings. In the mountain area, some houses have some kind of doors, but the ladder (or levitation) is still needed ;D.

In *TS, the doors are present, at least where it can be seen from the road.
Back to Iowa (where I have almost 82% after 19 deliveries): I have not checked all the map after the 1.55 update, but the new state has some ridiculous number of these photo cars — you can encounter them on every road and every street, once every several minutes. Something similar was in ETS, where there were too much helicopters on AI trucks ;D.

A little bug with the piece of graffiti — due to some wrong coordinate, it’s attached to the wrong surface. However, I like how they lowered the road — apparently, there is no sewer mains below, unlike that bridge with its own YT channel.

Lol! Done with the community event! Now I can actually explore and enjoy my drives.

I hope that DANGEROUS bridge is secretly in the North Carolina DLC and we as drivers drive into it. ;D

Iowa is pretty flat, but I am pleasantly surprised by some of the geography.  It actually isn't as flat in areas as I expected.
