A wonderful drawing and description! I love it!
@Daphine , we all know (I'm sure it's safe to say we all know) that you never meant to try to make fun of people being seriously ill. Of course, the Covid situation as such is not entertaining. I know we all agree about that. It is the fact that a sensitive nose is being touched in a way that makes it tickle and sneeze, which is entertaining. And you are always doing such a great job drawing it - this time too! So, in my opinion, you didn't do anything wrong.
I want to be completely honest right now and say something about myself. (Only speaking for myself!)
When I see a situation like that - a sensitive nose (human, animal, cartoon...) being tickled and caused to sneeze like that, I... have feelings.
My body reacts. And my body does not care what the cause for the nose-touch is. I just get mesmerized by the vision of the nose, the flaring nostrils, the sneezy eruption, and the sound. It's like I'm torn in two (or even three) at that moment: My rational self knows there is a dangerous virus that causes serious illness and death to many people. My empathetic self is worried about everyone who gets infected, praying that everyone who takes a test like that gets a negative result, and that those who did get infected will be all right.
The third part of myself (the dirty? lustful? instinctive?...) pushes all of that aside, focusing only on the sneeze.
I admit I have watched youtube clips of people who posted videos of themselves getting a nasal swab for covid and sneezed. I don't know what their results were, I hope they are all OK. But yes, I have watched them and I admit I enjoyed it.
Am I proud of it? No, definitely not.
Do I think it's the right thing for me to do? No, I don't.
Should I be ashamed? The fact is, I am ashamed.
Then why don't I just stop? I do. I stop watching those clips, and then some time passes, and I stumble across them again while surfing youtube, and I end up watching again. It's that dark (?) part of me that wants it.
My point is, we humans are not so simply constructed that we can only feel this way or the other. There is not always black or white, right or wrong. Again, I am only speaking about myself here. I don't know how everybody else feels.
So, for me personally, it is possible to enjoy
@Daphine 's artwork and description while still hoping and praying that people will be spared of the virus, and that those who get infected will be all right.
