Do you have anything you would recommend visiting out here Nostradamus from Jackson to Memphis?
Most of my favorite old haunts are either closed down or been renovated.  Showbiz Pizza is now Chuck E. Cheese's.  No more Libertyland, ditto Adventure River.  Jonesboro's  Indian Mall is a memory.  I hear Mud Island is nice but I've never been. Unless you're into tittie bars, skeezy dives, and discos, not much, I'm afraid... though if you like a place with history, B.B. King's Blues Club and Sleep Out Louie's are still around.  Little country general stores and gas stations have their charm; you can still buy a box of chicken strips and tater wedges, along with cassette tape, and pretend it's 2008 all over again. And if you find yourself down Portia way in the summertime, there was a nice little produce stand by the highway there, as I recall.  You can buy yourself a nice roadside watermelon.

I like small towns and their general stores.  You can learn so much about a place by walking in and talking.  And being able to pick up a pair of hunting watermelons from the side of the road is all the merrier.  Who doesn't like big melons?

I for one prefer melons of a modest to medium size, but far be it from me to dictate the fruity preferences of others!

You really have to know your melons too.  It is so easy to get overexcited about one, especially if it is on sale or for the cheap.  Might look fine and dandy on the outside, but you have to feel it to make sure it's as good as it looks inside.

I saw some pretty decent melons here at a store today.  They were full, ample, and quite supple.

I bought an apple instead.

But that is a great feeling right?  Open for the world today!

I'm gonna go to the local Sunday market and.... do stuff.  I'm also gonna watch football.
