In most cases, brown chickens lay brown and white lay white.  But not always.

Didn't work :P

Did you know female chickens start looking like boys when there isn't a rooster around? Their crest and waddle thing grow big and large.

WOW!  Look at how huge that yoke is.  I bet it is really sticky and leaves a big gooey mess!

I had no idea they change to be more boyish either.

Yeah. My friend owns chickens. She has this one alpha female who from afar really does look like a boy. Obviously not as big or have that fancy tail plumage, but has everything else. Even start to strut a bit like them XD her chickens crest is so big it even flops over on itself. It's so fun to play with it.

That's really interesting.  I wonder why?  Maybe they have no other females to learn from?

Well, I think it's like the whole thing when woman go to prison. Some start to go butch. I think it's like that. Because they all start looking like males, but it's the alpha female who kinda walks around like that. I guess to show she's large and in charge? Idk haha.

No one messes with the alpha female.  She's large and in charge.

My friend has a male rooster who had a girlfriHENd, who broke up with him.  Then he became lonely and none of the other hens hung out with him... so he put him in with the ducks he had and the ducks all clamor around him and talk with him.  It's really funny. He's even made a female duck friend whom he protects and goes off with in the corner and clucks too.

Aww!  Thats cute he got a duck girlfriend... will be a weird duckling...

I wonder how he lost charge of the hens that they didn't come to him?  Interesting.  Chicken problems.
