Do you have to wash the dogs too? Like doggie baths?
If you are in a muddy area, which it sounds like you are, it's probably a mess constantly with all those pooches running around.
its not a kennel like you guys think. It's run by the school, for school purposes. We use the dogs to practice our clinical skills. So in return we give them a home and give them a few hours of attention. Which is really like maximum 10-15 minutes with a dog while you walk them.
I think it's the behavior students who give them baths. If not, it's the staff. And the beagles get baths immediately, since the facility they come from give the head of the kennel bad allergies. They don't know what, but she's not allergic to dogs, and she only gets bad when they're fresh from the research place. They greyhounds (from chatter I've heard around) some have had baths already. One of them seems to have permanently stained fur or something, kind of a dirty yellow stains him and he's been bathed thrice (not jaundice yellow, so no worries haha).
The dogs only get to run around in the pens we have for them, but the greyhounds aren't allowed to run in the mornings due to the possibility of bloat. Beagles can though. But since it's snowy they just wanna go inside. But even going to the bathroom on grass seems foreign for some of them. It's crazy.
