We're actually in the process of getting a new roof, the last one had a lotta shingles taken off, house started leaking!

With this newer one, though, we should be good for like...20-30 more years

Nix that, I am checking for you.  It is currently 86 in Laredo, but you will see a quick drop in temps to about the 70s as the low moves overhead.  There is no tornado warning, but there is a thunder storm warning and it will pass by 5:45pm your time.  You can expect upwards of 2 inches of rain in an hour period.

There are some sick thunder columns on this storm!  The first rain band is hitting the northern part of the city now.  The red areas of the storm (the heaviest parts) will go directly over downtown Laredo, though it appears as the band continues to move east, it will spread to cover the north and south of the city within 20 minutes or so from now.

Yeah, no worries. 

Most of the red on the radar has disapated to orange.  It covers most of Nuevo Laredo already, but not much hitting the US side yet.

Based off of what I am looking at and have been looking at for awhile now, I don't think the storm will be nearly as bad as the past one.  You will see localized flooding, but it appears to be losing steam as it heads towards the Gulf because it is losing strength due to competing systems.  It will be a very strong rain storm with lightning, but I don't except there to be hurricane face winds.

I think you are right.  It will be a typical thunderstorm for them, nothing extreme.  There are no flags or warnings issued by the NOAA.
