I am hearing mostly positive things about the revival of Phineas and Fern, but that clip is pure horror.  Is he wearing Candace's skin? :o

"Lord of the Firesides" is a pretty disturbing episode too.  Isabella and the girls at each other's throats over a cupcake drive? Although, it is a pretty interesting look at Danville's...decidedly bizarre bureaucracy. Villains and heroes both need a business licence? Given the vast difference between the exam processes between the two, one must wonder if there was a super-villain responsible for building these safeguards into the system back during the town's founding. Maybe a heretofore unknown Doofenshmirtz ancestor?

The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder S-3 has dropped.  Watching a classic TPF episode together with last season's finale, it's abundantly clear that "respectful and inclusive" means "sucks so much ass you can get free liposuction if you drop your pants and stand bent over in front of your device". There's no joy here. There's no humor. They aren't having any fun. The revival lacks the bounce and spirit of its predecessor. Everyone just feels preachy and angry. It's unpleasant to watch.

I can't believe the The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder got another season.  Its name fits right in, but the show has become a political message to the show runners. It isn't about the characters or family as much as their left-wing message.

A Kim Possible revival/reboot would actually be something I'd be down for.  As long as they don't turn her into a character that preaches women's rights.  Disney has a bad track record recently.

They did a live-action movie.  I suppose they could build a reboot on that... Lil' Drakken at Middleton High, scheming to destroy his nemesis while still maintaining a B average? Ooh, maybe Patrick Warburton could reprise his role as Coach Barkin, with Alyson Hannigan now on board as the voice of Kim's mother...oh, and Patton Oswalt and Nicole Sullivan should definitely be on board--one of the episode's titles could even play on "The King of Queens" as a sly in-joke.

Yeah, it was the worst premiering moving on Disney Channel ever.  The reason is because no one wants live action films of classic animated shows.

And yet the makers of the Lilo and Stitch live action film had the last laugh all the way to the bank.

^ Because they cared and put time into it.  It's pretty obvious what was cared for and what isn't a cash grab.  (Though to Disney themselves, the corporate wing, it's all a cash grab)

Well, there's some hope for The Mouse yet...

The Muppets (2006)

Okay, to get it out of the way, yes, the voices aren't quite there, and haven't been for some years now. It's been noted many, many times.

Yeah, Matt Vogel's no Jim Henson,  I get it... but you forget that pretty soon once you get into this special. It's nice to see a return to classic form with the old variety show, with classic skits like "Muppet Labs" interspersed with new numbers like "Pigs In Wigs" and peppy modern songs.  It's wonderful to see several generations of Muppets represented here--I think I recognized nearly every one from the original series--Miss Piggy's diva pout when Sabrina Carpenter inadvertently offends her by saying her grandparents grew up watching her, Gonzo just as goofy and uncaring for his personal safety as ever and still voiced by original actor Dave Goelz. Having cameos by bonus guest stars is an interesting angle, though a couple of jokes are a touch morbid--nearly killing Maya Rudolf? Statler laughing off Waldorf's possible impeding heart attack? Brrr.  Maybe lose that angle, quick.  Still, I loved it, and I hope to see more of the same if this gets green-lit for a series. Yes, even after Disney XD's rank lack of respect for the Muppet Show and two decades' worth of misfires and outright flops, we still love these irascible little guys. The moment Kermit asks the ensemble backstage, in all earnestness, "Do you trust me?", it isn't just his friends and fellow actors he puts the question to; it's us as the audience.  Do you trust Vogel and this new generation of actors and writers to do right by The Muppets?

Yes. Yes, we do.

I've heard about a new Muppets thing.  To be honest with you all, I was never a fan of the Muppets, so I hadn't been following it.  Obviously someone new will have to take over eventually and they will either follow in the vision of the original creator, or their own vision.  But no matter how close they may try to follow the source material, there will be things they simply don't know about and how the original creator would want something to go.  Things evolve people.
