I wonder if SCS will have this close relation with other Daimler North America brands for future releases and more trucks? :D

I'm in the Western Star dealership right now, ready to buy this new truck!

You mean, more Cascadia relatives? ;D
Well, they also have Freightliner 122, and that’s I want to see as a new ATS truck.

I think the Freightliner 122 would be a nice, more traditional American truck design.  That is their only other highway truck that fits into the kind of trucks in the TS games. Technically there is the older M2 Class trucks as well, but they don't even show it on their main page anymore.  I think they are in the process of replacing these trucks.  They used to be called the Columbia and sat alongside the Cascadia. All named after their Pacific Northwest origins as a company.

For International, we are missing the RH Series truck, which is similar to the LT.

The last Western Star I would like is the classic 4900.  I doubt it will come since Western Star seems to want to promote just their new line up of trucks.

Outside of Daimler NA, we are now missing anything new from PACCAR branded trucks like Kenworth and Peterbilt.  I am willing to bet those will come within a year or so.

I just noticed this new 57X is the first and only truck that doesn't have the bed lowered!  Instead it shows the table layout inside the cab, with the bed pushed up! :o  I wonder why they did that?   It also might be the first truck to have a microwave and tv in it!!!

All good suggestions.  I think we got a great mix of trucks now.  I wish the game had the older Western Star 5700 truck. The predecessor to the 57X.

That «Driver Loft» interior has appeared in Cascadia a year ago, so WS had to get it as well.
But... Not every Cascadia sleeper had a TV, so 57X has it corrected ;D.

I didn't realize the Cascadia had it's bed in the upward position.  I better go check that again.

Check all the options ;D.

So, I think SoftLab has predicted the future with their first trucking game from 1998. Now we have three trucks with the same dashboard, and Hard Truck: Road To Victory had the same interior (notice the screen instead of dials ;D) for all nine trucks available in the game! ;D
— Freightliner my ass ;D.
(actually, in the next year they made a patch which gave every truck their own dashboard, but you needed to have Internet to get it )

Well, I still hope that new International or Kenworth models will not use the interior developed by Freightliner or Mack and continue to develop their own products.

I did my first drive with the 57X.  It was a 540 mile run and I must say, the truck felt agile, quick to speed, and very nice.  I also noticed it had blind spot monitoring which I don't believe any truck has yet in the TS games.  I will have to drive it side-by-side to the Cascadia, but right now, I feel the 57X might be a better truck due to the safety features.

Kenworth and Peterbilt are separate companies from International, Freightliner, and Mack. So they will be different. :) It's funny their origins are only separated by about 200 miles as well as their manufacuturing plants.  Seattle and Portland. ;D

Have you guys ever wanted separate threads for the two games?  ATS and ETS?  Would its make it easier for you all to discuss certain things? You can create separate topics of you wish.  There is no limitation. :)

I appreciate the thought but I personally don't think we need to.  Separating the two games into separate threads would split the community.  The last thing we want is to create sides or division.  Right now all the ETS2 and ATS players communicate happily, united.  No reason to break that up.  The games are similar and we have a shared experience.  I feel no reason to split our community for what is essentially going to be very similar discussions.   (aok)

I had thought of having two threads, one for ATS and one for ETS2, but then I thought, no.  @MasterXtreme explained it perfectly.  Why split a united group?  Plus with this topic being a general trucking sim thread, we can also talk about other trucking sim games.  It's not regulated to just one or two games.  It's open to them all.  We're pretty tight knit and I don't think we need to separate things.

Also congrats on your very first post in this topic, Darrin.   [excited]
