Yeah, I get what you mean. It's like, usually you want to do this:
-walk up to vending machine
-put money in
-press button
-drink

But with those I assume it takes longer to do so
Wait, are we even talking about vending machines? Or are these things just something totally different?

I'm not talking vending machines.  I am talking about those soda fountains at restaurants.  The ones you usually find at fast food joints of a gas station.

I like the new machines but I don't like touching a screen that a million other people have touched and they always get all grimy and sticky.  I prefer the old machines that you just push the lever thing with your cup and never have to touch anything.

Yeah, we got some of those new touch-screen soda fountains over here. I personally don't mind them.

I don't mind them.  I memorize which menu my drink I want is in, so then it just becomes done through memory.   But yeah, the old way is much faster.

You guys try those newer machines that are pretty much computers with a touch screen that let you choose tons of diff drinks? 

I first discovered this model at Zaxby's... they can make a lovely mixed drink, any combination that you can imagine.  I'm partial to the vanilla root beer, but their orange-Mello Yello combination is pretty smooth too.  Taco Bell and Pizza Inn still use the traditional fountain... seems they discontinued the sangria-flavored Dew I like, though.

Yes, but I live in the South. As I've noted before, it takes us a good ten, 15 years to get hip to new trends here.  Most of us never knew the dot-com bubble  existed, much less had burst, 'til we heard it on an episode of The Simpsons four years after the fact.   (holds up dusty folder covered in cobwebs, and filled with yellowing papers, stamped "ENRON STOCK")  Say, whad'dah I do with this, y'all?
