Ahahaha, Spike using his claws for some good ol backscratching. That's awesome. He looks so adorable in the first panel, and Twilight's expressions in the 3rd and 4th are great haha

It looks like we have a new story arc now too.  Next comic to follow it up has Spike making massaging a business.  He seems to see it was a good idea.

I like how he looks at his claws, and just thinks to use them to scratch Twi's back.  Like some sort of realization on his part, and now he is going to buy a Play Depot making money doing massages.

Well now.  This will be a nice turn.  See what Spike can do, and see if he can be successful. :)

This should be good. I want to see Spike succeed.

Today's comic seemed very empty with a lot of white space.  I liked it, but it seemed design-wise, different.

The minimalist approach to this comic uses just a few prop pieces to convey a setting-- a table, a chair, a door, picture on the wall. The negative space seems to suggest a field and sky. It makes the reader use their imagination to create the set.

The "bananas" line put me in mind of this Family Guy scene.

Also, it's interesting how they break the fourth wall with that "viewer mail" segment. Greg is fully aware he is a character in a comic, under contract, and hopes to return. I wonder if he'll come back in a later episode as a different character. "Say, Charlie, you look awfully ...familiar.  Like in a cartoon where a lazy artist simply recycles a character's model sheet, recolors the hair, and adds a mustache."

Two good points.  The minimalist approach is nice, but can be seen as lazy or underwhelming.  A turn off to some, a work of art to others, and just fine still to others.

I didn't think of that fourth wall thing.  That means they are all actors?  Or is Twilight living a "Truman Show" life?  I know it probably isn't meant to be taken seriously or thought of deeply, as really the only canon is the episodes, probably not the viewer mail segments.  That's just a hunch.

Are all the AT&F actors?  No!  That was just for comedic purposes, surely.  ;)

Minimalist or not, this episode was very light in terms of drawing.  What was drawn was drawn well including a unique perspective of Twi lifting Spike up and out of the house/castle.  (I don't feel they are in a castle, call me crazy).

But everything else was elegantly simple, such as Spike sitting on the ground befuddled, or just picking up his belongings and newly acquired forty bucks.

Anyone else get Sweetie equaled CAT vibes from her laying down position?

I seem to see a lot of shipping of Starlight Glimmer and Spike outside of this site.  I also am surprised to see shipping for Greg and Twilight out of this site.  Name me a comic series that does NO romantic relations between a main cast member and an OC, and people start shipping that.  PEOPLE HATE OC's and the fact they are shipping one with a main star amazes me.

I guess they saw he was a nice guy, and looked like your generic guy. Nothing super special. So he doesn't push people away. His 4th wall breaking and self awareness also make me laugh. I like that type of humor.

I'm sure this joke has made the rounds with numerous variations-- hemorrhoid medication, condoms, porno film titles, etc. -- but it's always good to see again.  One would think an experienced potion-maker like Twi would know how to brew up her own ointments, poultices, and applications for various ailments.

I do enjoy this type of joke. It has to be a trope.

Ahahahahaha XD
Oh my gosh, for some reason that type of joke just doesn't get old. The reactions and just complete lax-ness of the workers practically shouting for something a customer tried to keep quiet. Just gold. We get to see some nostril flaring from Twilight and th good ol' R&M eyes.

Also, Ellen has a super cute design. I love all the cute little details she had. Like the freckles, the tied up hair, the earrings. Just really adorable.
