Yeah, guys don't touch really, unless it's like a fist in their face or gut or something.  But there is still those times like if you are not being loud hanging with a bud and just getting lunch.... then the awkward waitress smiles and asks if we are paying as one or separate, KNOWING full well her intentions of asking.  We quickly say separate, then her smile goes away.... 

Usually it is never a problem though.  We're pretty obnoxious, loud, and rowdy (not really any of those three things).

Heh, and I kept treating my friend and she kept treating me that day. My SO teases and calls her my lady friend.

Yeah, guys and girls are different... NO MATTER WHAT Tumblr people try to tell you.  There are differences between the sexes. 

I'm pretty sure I was wearing a shirt with a motorcycle on it, American eagles, a waving American flag, and guns on it.  He was wearing a Monster truck shirt that said, "I eat hybrids."  So I am not sure what she was hoping for.  (I totally made those shirts up)

The fact that we talk about this series in such depth, even though there is no sneezing, just a hope and chance there will be one, astounds me.  I am glad we have something to talk about here.

To be fair, a guy can hang with a girl, get lunch or dinner together, maybe go shopping or take in a movie and not be boning her... but everyone assumes he is. Of course, thing can get complicated when one of those platonic friends (and in my experience, it's usually the girl) admits that she wants to be something a bit more than friends.  Which is great, I guess-- good friends make the best lovers, and all that-- but it can also get weird and ruin a good friendship.

that is the worst when you want to be friends, and one in the party wants more and it risks the friendship being ruined...

I know that has happened with previous girl friends.

Its hard to get rejected no matter what sex you are.  Even if its a painless 'we're just friends' kinda dealy that feeling of unwanted still stews.

Today's episode does a good job at feeling alone in a crowded space.  Clever.  We also see many key characters in the background, and what appears to be Fluttershy with a tail of Tree Hugger in front of her.  No smile though... hmmm.

Rarity's "boyfriend" seems to be accompanied by not only Sweetie Belle, but a lady officer we haven't yet seen. That might be hinting at something later in the series --a little jealousy, a little drama... a little quibble on the definition of a "partner".

Am I the only one started to get that nagging 'you're overdoing it, author' with Twi?  I feel like a lot of her problems she doesn't make any sort of effort to fix.  If she's that upset with her body, go for a run.  If she's lonely, don't stand in a crowd and wait for people to come to you, make an effort to find people to hang out with. 
I'd rather see her failing at these things and then feeling sad then just 'hey Twilight's sad again, feel sad for her'.   Especially if she only fails a little and its comically.

Hahaha!  That officer has never been the "boyfriend" that Rarity seems to want him to be.  But he does seem pretty happy around that mare beside him.  We finally see a second cop character, and we see that Sweetie Belle hangs out with him.    That is actually some background character development most people won't notice.

Also Fluttershy is in that same panel.  Many of the background characters are one's we have seen before.  In the first panel, the one in the plaid shirt was that dockworker who asked how Twi would make Equestrian great again, a very long time ago.

I totally get that.  I would like to see her try more.  It seems those around her try to brighten her day, but she doesn't try to improve herself.

New comic on a Sunday!  Wow!  It builds Twi's inner thoughts.

So going off what Kyrl and Soda are talking about, it is a shame for Twilight.  People around her are building, growing, adapting, but she isn't.  She has all these skills she could use, but is afraid to use them.  She can be charming, and smart, and communicate, but she doesn't.

Look at Spike, nearly every time we see him reading, he is reading about something to help him learn, and we see him improve over time starting a business now to earn money.  He is even possibly getting a girlfriend in Starlight... maybe... I don't know.  But at least he is moving forward. 

Twilight needs a kick in the butt, and I think we can start seeing her move forward too.
