Maybe the artist is using Vinyl to poke fun at millennials...? She can't be much older than Spike, because they chum around together... so, what? Late teens, early 20s? Octavia at least acts older-- the difference may not be more than three or four years, if that, but at a glance you might think at least ten. Coupled with this earlier cartoon, one might think Viney even has a bit of a girl-crush on her sophisticated older roommate, but don't expect it to come to much....
I could see her representing a millennial in a way. She's lazy, kind of a slob, probably always thinks she is right and is confused when others have different opinions that are not her own. I doubt there is any crush going on between her in Vinyl... but... you never know. She might like it both ways.... especially if she is a millennial. Man, I just hardcore dissed millennials... I hate the fact that I am grouped in with that horrible generation. Generation X!! I will stick with that... even though I am not in the correct range... FUDGE... I am Generation Y then. Millennials.
