Since yaks generally live in snowy climes, this would suggest Yakyakistan is invading some other nation that looks not unlike the Pacific Northwest. Given their penchant for destructive tantrums, I wouldn't be surprised if they don't even bother detouring around the trees in their way. A lot of good timber is going to be reduced to splinters by those babies.

Funny you brought that up, because based on the pictures and the tree types, it does look like a boreal (though taller, so maybe not boreal) type forest.  It is a northern forest they are driving through in that pic, and as we say from the one episode of Yakyakistan, they are a cold clime, and the further south you go, the more temperate it would become.

First episode of this test is so far so good.  I am intrigued.

Not sure if it was intentional, but Griggs has returned, and his color is gray.  In his uniform he sort of reminds me as being dressed in WWII German era clothing.

Darrin have you seen how tall some pine trees can get? It's crazy haha. They can get pretty tall.

In the Scootaquest thread, AJM mentioned that Griggs was coming back. And I imagine he's being colored gray because if he were colored white we wouldn't see him. And his uniform is freaking awesome. It does seem reminiscent of the German WWII uniforms. The not extremely ornate and pretty ones. But yeah, still awesome.

I'm not really liking Luna here. Not because like she's saying kinda tyrant-y things. But because her way of speaking is faaaar more formal than this. It doesn't feel like Luna. Luna wouldn't speak this way. Although, maybe in the Adorkable verse she does? But even if the Adorkable-verse does change characters, they're still them. I figured with a serious tone they'd keep the Monarchs more serious, since they aren't aiming for comedy here. But yeah, Luna just feels off.

Luna is reserved in public, but you never know behind the scenes.  In Scootquest, don't forget Luna and Commander Griggs were always at odds.  Griggs didn't trust her and she didn't like him.  So it seems in this universe, it could be the same.  We are just seeing that side of her come out around him.

So is Commander... oh... wait... he has a new title now... it is Major General Griggs... is he bad or is what he doing noble and right?  Freedom?  How can you fight that?  They are using the problems in Yakyakistan to trick the royalty as they probably move in and take over... but they won't lead, they want people to choose a leader, hmm.

Also this is the first time we get to see Luna in this comic more then just in one panel.  Also the first time we see Twilight in her crown and actually performing government royal duties.  So I enjoy seeing this side of her.  I currently hope this is canon in this series.  It would add a whole bunch of depth to Twilight, and the world.

Also this red/brown/orange colored general type guy, is this guy from a long time ago I think.  He's changed stylistically to be better drawn and designed.  He wasn't fond of Twilight then...  That second link is the only time we see Luna and Celestia's hair.  Now we have seen Luna more.

Meanwhile in Russia... did you know Adorkable Twilight is translated very professionally into Russian?  Someone does it, and it has a following.  Vodka.

Wonder what they will do when they see Yakyakistan equipped with Soviet T-34's.

Wait, I wonder if this panel where Griggs said he recorded her is the dirt he has on Twilight that the guy in the limo tells Autumn Summer. Hell, the text is even gray.

Also, wow, the whole Yak plot has been planned since 3 months ago? Damn.

I had to translate that Russian stuff.  Apparently there is a dude who translates the comic each week and posts a week worth of the series for Russian readers, and the readers go in depth about the series.  Pretty cool.  Translated then you can shift back and forth by week.

So Commander Griggs is now Major General Griggs.  Going off the US military ranking, he would be second in command, a big step up from just a Commander.

Yak plot for 3 months?  Hmmmm, that is dedication.  I love those little details.  That's right!  When twi said she was going away for a week.

Autumn Summer.... that person in the limo... it might have been leading to this being true, though if thats the case, this is out of order from Autumn Summer's comic.

So... Griggs is technically doing treason here, right?  Is he a bad guy?  Or is he doing the right thing the wrong way?

I'm actually picturing Luna yelling "Screw her too!" in the royal Canterlot voice.  At least this comic keeps it clean... she could have been swearing like a Pommeltugese sailor.

He and all the betrayers will be shot in back.  Too bad, he looks good in uniform.
