Luna is reserved in public, but you never know behind the scenes. In Scootquest, don't forget Luna and Commander Griggs were always at odds. Griggs didn't trust her and she didn't like him. So it seems in this universe, it could be the same. We are just seeing that side of her come out around him.
So is Commander... oh... wait... he has a new title now... it is Major General Griggs... is he bad or is what he doing noble and right? Freedom? How can you fight that? They are using the problems in Yakyakistan to trick the royalty as they probably move in and take over... but they won't lead, they want people to choose a leader, hmm.
Also this is the first time we get to see Luna in this comic more then just in one panel. Also the first time we see Twilight in her crown and actually performing government royal duties. So I enjoy seeing this side of her. I currently hope this is canon in this series. It would add a whole bunch of depth to Twilight, and the world.
Also
this red/brown/orange colored general type guy, is
this guy from a long time ago I think. He's changed stylistically to be better drawn and designed. He wasn't fond of Twilight then... That second link is the only time we see Luna and Celestia's hair. Now we have seen Luna more.
