To her, "apps" are probably short for appetizers.  The Princess of Friendship is probably obliged to attend very dull royal functions and dinner parties.  Then, still hungry, she goes home and snarfs down three or four hayburgers and a pint or two of horse chestnut ice cream, or whatever her comfort food of choice is, like a slob.

I hate apps.  Every company, restaurant has apps now.  If they require it for discounts I don't use it.  If they don't give me the discount, I simply leave now days.  Most places give you the discount anyways.

It took me a minute to realize your referring to phone applications and not appetizers. Those I love. Esp. the "th'owed rolls". Yes, I went to a place once where the waiters actually toss the bread right to you at the table.  Fun, but I must say it makes me a little paranoid. I mean, what if someone got hit in the face with a greasy hot roll and it horribly disfigured them? [to an AI engine] Write that into a script and sent it to the people at Family Guy... stat.

Oh, and at the Dollar General I just saw a flier on the window saying they're taking job applications... through their app. Click on the QR code; get a job. An application application? Whatever happened to writing a nice resume with a cover letter? (Only pretentious d-bags call them "curriculum vitae" or "CV"). You pretty much screwed if you aren't tech savvy or don't have a cell phone. Hm--wonder if that's how Ellen got her cashier gig?

How Ellen got her gig? I doubt it had anything to do with a phone, but she probably did send a resume through the computer.

I mean if we base this comic on our timeline, it's been over a decade now since they first appeared.  But if we base it on the comic's timeline, that's harder to know.  They have had multiple Christmas episodes now, but one could argue some of them all take place in the same year... or they could all be separate years.  It's hard to know how much time has passed.  Purposefully I am sure.

Classic sliding scale of time.  It's how Superman fought Nazis yet still remain in his... thirties, I think?...and Homer Simpson can be both a child at Woodstock, a teen during the moon landing, and a surly twenty-something making grunge music in the nineties.

I actually do wonder what the official time line is.  They've been smart to hide a lot of technology and never make it the focus.  So that way it can remain more timeless.

So many crumbs.  If Lawrence gets in there, he's gonna feel crumby. ;)

I see what you did there.

I wonder if Lawrence will ever get there?

It can be though.  Sometimes they will change the color of a pillow or blanket, maybe a haircut or new painted nails, or something smaller, and if you don't notice, you've RUINED their day.
