Well, today . But it’s only an update post about a current event.
Last three times their first post in new year was at 8th of January in 2018, 9th — in 2019 and 10th — in 2020. So, if my calculations are correct, they have a legal reason to have a rest until 11th of January ;D.

Looks like SCS woke up early!  I knew we would have to get some new French Connections to enter Iberia.  I had hoped that a single dot would represent Andorra, lol, but I know that isn't going to happen.  I know have reason to drive into southern France!!!!

On a serious note, the new screens get me excited.  Doesn't appear to be using the new lighting engine though.

They are using the new lighting engine.  Some are pretty obvious, especially with clouds or dusk/dawn.  Midday doesn't change much.

So, is there somebody who has already visited all existing viewpoints and can’t wait when the new ones will be added? ;D

I've visited all these places already, lol.

I am going to make a predictions.  They will ALTER viewpoints in California and IMPROVE their scenery in some areas so the viewpoints look nicer and more in line with later DLCs.

It’s like adding the «walk mode» in garage menu — when the player have an opportunity to see things from another POV, the developers are forced to make new models and prefabs more detailed ;D.

That is actually a really good prediction.  I am trying to think of what areas could even be used for viewpoints in California/Arizona/Nevada and it's currently underwhelming.  The newest portion of North California is the only candidate areas that look remotely good, lol.

Thanks gents.

They can use Las Vegas as a viewpoint and the Dam in Nevada.  That's about all I can think of.

They removed Mount Shasta when rebuilding parts of I-5 in northern California... which was a weird choice.  So they would have to put it back in.  Prior to Washington and Oregon... it was the only mountain seen in the distance with snow on it.

I went on to the SCS forum and people are talking about a "California rebuild."  I've never heard this was happening and I am pretty sure it's just people making stuff up.  I know SCS will update areas, but there is NO official talk of a rebuild of California.  Do these people know something I don't?

Just like people want a rebuild of the UK, very very very badly.  I am one of those people.  But there is no talk of it and no real discussion of it.
