Wow!!!! Truck news!!! :D  There is so much stuff going on.

The last week or so I've been driving around Austria and all it's country connections just to remember what it looks like prior to the big 1.44 change.  That way I can be in more shock when it completely changed.

NEW TRUCKS COMING

@MasterXtreme and @Captain Ridiculous were right about new upcoming trucks. They have been saying these were coming since late last year and as recently as two weeks ago. Thanks for the insider knowledge! On the May 5th ATS stream, it was announced and highly shown off what some new trucks for ATS will be.  Spoilers below.
Last chance, if you don't want to know....

Kenworth T680 / Peterbilt updates

Mack Pinnacle

Volvo VNL (current generation)

The Kenworth, Mack, and Volvo have all had their sounds recorded and they were recently holding meetings and "signing papers"  related to these brands.
:-0  ATS is incredible with the amount of stuff coming now.  I can't even remember it all.  My guess is we can expect these new truck releases to last through 2022 and into 2023.

We still wait for any new ETS2 truck news...
Wow!  The pinnacle reminds me of a similar sized truck the Western Star 49X.  Would love the Western Star 4900.

Pinnacle is an interesting choice to me.  I would have thought they would have done the Mack Granite... though it isn't a Highway truck.  I've never seen am modern Mack Pinnacle on the road.

Volvo VNL is a given.  Maybe even the electric VNL?

Oh wow.  I'm glad they made this semi-official.  :) Instead of me and @Captain Ridiculous just posting "according to sources" kind of stuff. :D  I actually didn't know about the...
Mack Pinnacle
so that aspect is completely new to me even! :D I love being surprised.

I forgot to update the other day that the SCS Forum works again.  :D

I see you woke up to a week's worth of news, Tim. ;D  lol

And there is more.

Anthony Pires, brand marketing manager from Western Star says that "Summer 2022 is looking really nice" with "something exclusive" between SCS and Western Star.  This isn't in relation to the other spoiler mentioned in other posts above.

Now we'll see if they ever upgrade their game engine more... To really push  the quality.

But at the same time, I don't want that.  Because then I might not be able to play it well, lol.

Dang!  This is such awesome news.  Really, nothing but great news lately by SCS.  The ATS side has been on fire with new content, and it makes sense since it has the most to expand upon.

So you all think this will be the week they announce the 1.44 release/or release date?  If they do, it will be on Thursday is my guess.

This weekend I spent most of my time really exploring the new changes to Germany and driving through olde timey Austria.  The change is significant from old to new.

One of my favorite trucks I was hoping would make it into the game was the Western Star 5700X, but sadly the truck was cancelled prematurely.  It was released in 2015 and cancelled in 2021. Article  But word is a new model will replace it.  It's weird they'd cancel it before the new model was ready.

I am willing to bet the new Western Star truck will BE this new replacement truck.  Many predict it will be called the 57X.  The truck (most likely) was seen here just a day ago at a plant, but it still has yet to be officially revealed.  It sure looks like this is the new truck to replace the 5700XE though. The new truck is based off the Freightliner Cascadia.

All these photos are prototype trucks at a plant in Oregon except the last one.

I didn't know the 5700 XE stopped production.  According to the article you linked, they wanted the trucks to be the same chassis for easier manufacturing, which is likely why the 5700 XE was cancelled for this new upcoming truck based off the same platform of the Cascadia.  So it would be a good highway truck.  It looks cool based on the prototypes.
