Maybe they will introduce the "Jumping Truck" feature to jump over things.  See a border crossing?  Press the jump button!  See a deer!  JUMP!  Police car, JUMP!

^I remember that function for all taxi cars in Vice City (after completing the taxi challenge), but it didn’t work good ;D.
It was difficult to predict the landing point.

Didn't you like unlock some zebra striped Cabbie?  If I remember when you jumped, it could easily flip over.  The original Cabbie wasn't that stable to begin with. ;D

Well, the endless sprint (reward for Medic challenge) saved my life much more times than any special car ;D
Last times I played VC, it was the first mission I took. No matter how many attempts I needed to complete it, I didn't consider myself ready for walkthrough before I become the Vice City running champion ;D.
For the games from current topic, the Long Distance is the only skill for the first six level-ups, although after Level 36 every driver has exactly the same set of skills. If those were real RPGs, not the driving games, the more interesting option could be making the number of levels lower than number of skills to ensure that driver will make his preferences in his character development strategy instead of earning maximum stats after 80 hours of gameplay.

When I first started the trucking game we all love, I first aimed for a bit of longer distance runs, then went to the chemical deliveries to make more money.

Speaking of older games and tank trailers... That Hard Truck 2 I mentioned earlier had a manual, promo video and even a short introduction clip (cut in GOG version), where the driver picks up a guy who tells about the game world. So, all these materials at least once mention that (explosive!) fuel transporting is a well-paid job... which isn’t true in the actual game ;D. The money-per-distance ratio is average or even below average, the load is too small, and most of deliveries have a target far from other fuel depots, so sometimes you will make more empty rides than cargo deliveries. In addition, the info booths which can give you information about what orders are on the nearest base (and how many minutes they last), don’t say anything about fuel depots, so the only way to find out where will be your target is to get into the depot. Nothing of those inconveniences worth the money you get for the job, plus, the tank trailer has the worst stability. Although there is one fun moment: if your cargo has exploded, you still can quickly call 911 who takes out the fire and lets you continue to deliver the remains of your fuel ;D. Unlike *TS,, HT2 economy system allows to damage a big part of the cargo, and the fine for damaged goods is very low, so, even when 25-30% of the initial cargo is left untouched, you still have good chances to have a positive income.

Not to ignore everyone before me, but I had to share this real quick.

I was doing a delivery from Krokow to some city in Hungary.  Early on my journey, I realized I needed some fuel so I filled up.  I then proceeded to the delivery depot.  I got there and realized I didn't have my trailer!!!  I was so confused.  I pulled up the map and realized I accidentally left it behind at the gas station in Poland!! >:( I must have pressed the wrong button!  Needless to say, I was very unhappy I just journeyed over 600 miles without a trailer.  I had to drive back, pick it up, then drive BACK to the depot again.  I literally did over 2,000 miles for the CHEAPEST amount of money ever.  I was very upset. ;D

While overtaking and doing 90-degree turn I usually switch between inner and outer cameras so often so watching my playing can cause motion sickness ;D. So, in my case, the abscence of a trailer will be already known at the first intersection.

I didn't notice because I was trying for absolute realism.  I turned off all the HUD and my usual mirrors to see out the back.  So I only used the mirrors on the truck, not the floating ones. ;D  What made me not realize it is the gas station was at the summit of a mountain, so the first road I experienced was going downhill!  Lol!  I just thought it was going quicker because I was going downhill.

As an active user of a set of realism boosters like 21:9 monitor or steering wheel with manual gearbox, I think switching off right cheater’s mirror is really painless only if the player uses some head/eye tracker or just expands the right part of the picture to the second monitor. Because... where is the realism when you press the button or move the mouse instead of just turning your head with 0 second delay? ;D Speaking of manual gearbox: driving with steering wheel on a highway sometimes is too relaxing (that famous Kraftwerk song reflects this feeling perfectly), so switching gears manually helps to keep me awake. The ability to choose the right gear earlier is just a bonus ;D.
BTW, there is one out-of-context moment from a fresh anime:

(the truck carries her band’s promo posters... in her imagination.)

A good material for the avatar, I must say ;D.

I didn't think anyone else here knew about Kraftwerk.  Pioneers in music they were.  I got to see them live a long time ago.
