So to those who live in Europe or have been to some of the countries in this game, how accurate is the game at depicting European countries?  Is it accurate and believable?  Does it provide a slice of life?  You can ignore the old parts of the game, but what about more current parts?  Would love to know.

I am curious about this too.

Of course, how can a DLC be without a post about truck stops — I bet we will see «Kansas Truck Stops» post in four our five months ;D.
If compare with clean chromed tank trailers we have, that tank on the foreground of the last photo has a texture that can resemble some clean polished stone. A monument to liquified gas sellers?

There actually are some pretty good photos in this one.  I usually don't care about truck stops posts, but from the images above, I like the first and second pics a lot.

Is that a stone gas gas or propane tank in the last pic?   :o

This might be one of the better truck stop posts.  They look really good.  They've improved on environmental detail even more then Texas already.  How does SCS pep doing this?  lol

I found the location of that first image.  It is a community called Calera and those mid-rise buildings are massive casinos owned by a Choctaw, a native American tribe.

Since it’s one of the smallest German cities in the game, I want to see it bigger ;D.

I'm gonna have to check to see how Erfurt looks right now.

For those interested, here you go.

I guess one of the smallest cities in-game also gets one of the smaller blog posts with only a small handful of pictures. ;D

The real city isn't that small.  Just over 200,000 people in the city proper.

Hopefully our friends across the pond can answer for you.  The places I have been in Europe are not well represented because they are in very old parts of the game.  So I cannot answer this.  For example, London in the game doesn't look like London at all.  But this is part of the oldest part of the game before they started aiming for realism.  Sure they have some landmarks, but nothing is in accurate locations.  They are sort of placed in an area you can't reach.  Like a "best of" skyline.

I haven't been to Madrid yet in the game, so I can't answer that.  The Italy sections I have been to are much better then older parts of the map.  You certainly get the feel and vibe of the cities, and certain areas are accurate.  But very few places are of the tourist areas one would go.  It's more likely you will be driving a truck in an industrial area, so you don't always see much.  But the residential streets you do drive by, you definitely get the vibes.

I can answer for ATS if you want an answer on that.

Thank you.  I really appreciate the answers. If we get no answers for Euro truck, I would love to hear your answers for the American truck part.  Last call for anyone else?

Looks like our friends from across the pond are tight-lipped for some reason.  I will try to answer what I can.

Early on, each city was essentially very similar.  The main difference was it's surrounding set-dressing.  You would see a city skyline in the distance with all the landmarks of the city you could think of.

As time went on, they went towards a realistic approach, so there are sections of road and city, that will be very similar to the real life thing, just not in a 1:1 scale.  They are designed so that when you see one of these areas, you will recognize it for the real thing.  View it as a mini-real interpretation you could pass off as accurate to people who live there.

The EURO cities are more characters of themselves with certain areas more accurately recreated than others.  As MasterX and Grapefoot said, they improved over the years.

So, it was only 1.5 years of whining «why only ATS has cattle trailers?» needed to make an adjustment ;D.
I like that brutal chromed rear bumper on a second photo, also, the color of the fourth vehicle resembles some darker version of «military olive».
No information how much time left to the start of 1.47 Open Beta, but I hope it will be no more than three weeks.
