Let's go trucking!

So for ETS2, we have WB coming out this year.

We still have Kansas coming out for ATS at the end of this year most likely.

The search gives a map (in Polish), which says that most of Balkan countries require a license for CB radio use. Although it doesn’t say about popularity — maybe, this license requires just to register the device and that’s it, so, anyone who wants the radio can own it.
BTW, the radio was one of prominent features of Hard Truck 2. You could ask the nearby driver for help (the same effect as calling 911, but cheaper) or order a vehicle from a dealer (with very limited options — *TS games allow to buy everything and everywhere ;D). The first versions of that game (the user-available ones started from number 4.0! How much alphas and betas they had?) didn’t have the radio, traffic lights, speed limits etc., and, since they were released on the West a year before the release of the «completed» version (with a number 6.6) in Russia, there was a joke about how developer used Americans for a year-long beta-test. Not very successful test, I can say — some bugs were not fixed, and, in fact, the amount of new content was not so huge — no new vehicles, trailers, or significant map updates, even in the latest version, which is available on the GOG.

It’s not so important information since that game is pretty obsolete for playing in 2023 ;D.
But... at the time mark when you finish your first delivery in *TS, you are hiring the second worker in HT2.

Take that back! lol! No game is ever obsolete.  I am playing Sim City 4 still!

I bet there will be people who would like to see this paintjob without animals on it, as it was with a prize paintjob for a Texas event ;D.

I play old games.  I play 18 Wheels of Steel still too!
Well, I returned to the first 18WoS a year ago (a loooong after I played it last time), but I found that it has some annoying moments like unexpected bumps at random places (which could damage your cargo when zero damage delivery is required) and difficult navigation in the cities — at «medium» and «high» difficulty maps you can waste a lot of time trying to find a base you need. HT2, despite some bugs and facepalm-worthy moments, is generally more user-friendly game, and has in-built totally legal cheats. Even if AI competitors drive really fast, you don’t need to fight with them — use one of shortcuts through the forest, swamp or even across the river (!) and your route will be two or three times shorter — noone will catch you ;D. In *TS, the off-road driving is needed only if you have chosen the wrong lane at the interchange, and there is a gap in the guard rails ;D.

So, I play Hard Truck 2 once a year, but after hiring every driver (last times I managed to do this at the third day of playing ;D) there is nothing left to do — no high-detailed scenery and enviroment sounds (except of 2 locations with running water ;D), no giant map and very limited truck customization. The first SoftLab’s Hard Truck game from 1998 have too repetitive gameplay and crashes on the systems newer than Windows 98 . There are dgVoodoo fix for it, but only for the lower modes with one 2D dashboard for all nine trucks.
Also, there are several more old games I play once every year... like NFS: Porsche, where the difficulty level is balanced wery well — the first races in Evolution mode are a good tutorial for a player who never played this game or totally forgot about how to play it, and the later tournaments and unlockable tracks difficulty grows with player’s natural skill growth ;D — no chances to just buy the fastest car and dominate (the exception is using the car from 1988 in 944 challenge, where all other cars use the basic model from 1982). Despite being older than Hard Truck 2, this game has much more customization options, more natural-looking scenery, rich environment sound library... and works with modern monitors better ;D.

I would like to see that paintjob without animals on it.  ;)  I am playing ETS2 right now before the release of ATS OK, but I am getting OK on release day!

Lol! I occasionally go off roading because I miss my exit.  Some of the massively confusing interchanges in the Spain DLC or Texas DLC where there may be several exits all points in the same way, it can be hard to read the GPS.  It's annoying when you are stuck on that road and cannot turn around for a long time... or you can illegally reverse on the freeway, you choice!

Sneaking this in before August 1st when AMERICAN TRUCK DRIVING SIMULATOR takes control of the new cycle.

Truck Driver: The American Dream Deeper Analysis & Gameplay Trailer!

This game is going to be expensive, but new footage shows us more about the trucks and it looks much better.  Why they didn't show this instead of the silly story stuff makes no sense to me.  It looks generic, but that kind of is expected at this point.  This will be console only, no PC release at the moment.  So for console players, this might be what they want. $60USD is a lot. Overall, let's be realistic.  Small development team. Release is September 26, 2023.

A quick breakdown of all we know by a YouTube who follows it more than me.

This time they made a huge three-hours stream, which was completed by a pressing a button (as usual ;D). If turn off the chromakey, you can see how much light it needs :-0.

So, I am starting to explore the state from the Interstates 40-44. For my region, with a Great Plains bundle discount, the price of Oklahoma DLC is a little more than 2/3 of Texas DLC.

Also, this is not all new content for now. Tomorrow must be an announcement of a first tuning pack for ATS.

(^I think it’s a little too much, I prefer more modest customization )

P.S. This reward plush reminds me a @TheBeesSneeze’s avatar ;D.

We have till October 1st to finish the event thankfully.  I cannot play this till the weekend, but I just purchased it and will download it so I can start driving this Friday! Really looking forward to it.

ATS tuning pack?  This sounds interesting.  That modded truck looks wild. It will be neat to have the ability to make modified trucks like you see at car-shows in the US.

Truck tuning pack?  I didn't know this was coming.  I bought OK DLC, but I won't have time to play it until the weekend most likely.  Until then, I will rely on whatever Timmy posts about it. ;D Thank goodness this DLC is back to the lower price too, they didn't try to price gouge. $11.99 USD and only $10.00 USD with the Great Plains Bundle!

There was also a WB stream too. Haven't seen it though.
