OK, so, since the road to Tulsa through OKC doesn’t have too much scenic overlooks, I paid attention to the route 69-59-259, which is very curvy and have several «photo trophy» signs, one of them shows a dam which reminds me the one from Black Mesa East (if you remember, Freeman jumps into one of its gates after defeating the helicopter), just bigger. BTW, in Oklahoma even the road sign columns may have a lot of yellow barrels — in other states, the columns are usually put further away from the road ;D.

There is some small parallel road, with a narrow wooden bridge.

In general, the eastern part of Oklahoma has a lot of rivers, and some roadside museums.

Anyway, the screenshots can’t fully express how flat these lands are ;D. I wish to be able to lift the camera higher to show how far can be the horizon in this game.

Route 69 is a very nice route. ;)  Very nice photo tour, Timmy!  This is a very flat... boring  state, lol!  Most of the photos, every single view is flat vastness. ;D

How do you think the quality of the map is compared to others?  Have they improved their building skills at all?  Is the map boring? It seems they have improved their horizons, making the land seem vast and large.

^Well, the forests look more and more realistic with every new state. Most of trees have their own shape, size and even color ;D. It’s not Warcraft 3-like forest, as can be seen at background in the oldest mountain locations. Plus, the flatness means the lakes can be really big.

One small detail which looks a little sad: this factory prefers truck delivery and don’t need the rails anymore (hmm... if this «appendix» is not needed, I would like to remove the unnessessary switch in case if somebody wants to play with it C:-)).

Since the state is really small, it took only four deliveries to visit all ten cities.

Also, there is a special message at new road toll gates.

I think this year we will see the impressive scenery only in West Balkans ;D, and Kansas will look very like Oklahoma.
Arizona and New Mexico look like Himalayas if compare with Oklahoma... ;D well, the same can be said about flat Baltic countries if complete with other parts of ETS map. So, you can save a little money and choose less powerful engine — the lack of double and triple trailers in that state makes the 600-hp diesels much less needed than in Colorado or Utah.

^ He's not wrong.  If you want interesting scenery, WB will be it this year.

Thank you for all the extra info and photos, Tim!

Not only the suburban areas, but the oil depots also look endless ;D.

Again, some scenery can be missed since the FOV looks like that during a significant amount of time ;D. So, maybe there are real hills, but I just didn’t notice them for now.
The «photo trophy» sign can be a hint where you can enter the photo mode and set the daytime to look around, although there are some landmarks without any special signs.

That police station in Enid looks so small:

It’s lower than any building around it, and I found it funny just like this picture from Derpibooru ;D.
Also, just like California, Oklahoma doesn’t allow all types of a single 53' trailer — I was surprised that I can’t find a cargo in all ten OK cities for my spread-axle flatbed and conestoga, so I was forced to visit the truck service and install the legal chassis type. 8 of 10 cities of Oklahoma allow teleporting into them, although a service station of Idabel is too far from the bases, so it’s faster to drive there from Texarkana. The lack of a service in Tulsa is really annoying me — there are so many bases in it, but you need to drive there all the way, if you want to take a cargo. (Lol, I got used to teleporting so much... ;D)

P.S. There is an announcement in their Xwitter:

I already have a room in my garage for a new W900, and I believe the price of this tuning pack DLC will be really small.

I like how SCS was so desperate for landmarks, they started just labeling random things as landmarks! lol!

What a cute lil' police station, lol!

Rumor is the W900 DLC Tuning pack will have 800 new additions for the truck. :o  If that is true, I will be blown away.

Wait till SCS gets to Nebraska, Iowa, and some of those states.  We are truly entering the most boring of all the states in the US in terms of visual interestingness.  Kansas and Iowa may be the most boring you can imagine.

800 for 900? ;D
But anyway, it’s a huge number. It must be more than Mack Anthem and WS 49X together.

I will believe that when I see it. I might actually buy this tuning pack on release for a change though.  [excited]

Petition for «We need Mexico!» ;D.

At yesterday‘s stream, Pavel said that he has already thought in that direction. «It’s not named US Truck Simulator, it’s American Truck Simulator» — almost an accurate quote from him.

When that stream comes online, could someone post it to watch... maybe time stamp this moment?

I think Mexico would be more interesting than Canada, since Canada is pretty much USA-lite.  It would be a lot of work for the team to build new assets for Mexico... but I guess that do that in Euro Truck for diff countries.

Love all the info and updates Tim! I drove into Ardmore and that's all I've done so far.  It's the middle of the night, so I didn't see anything.

After making 17 deliveries I have discovered almost all roads of Oklahoma, so, nothing distracts me from looking at another DLC ;D. The price is pretty high — almost 40% of Oklahoma DLC in my region, but the number of content totally justifies it. Is it 800 points or not, doesn’t matter — you can spend a lot of time in the catalogue, so I want to focus only on a couple of details. First, as it is IRL, the technical level of new details varies from the real piece of art to «I have bought the cheapest LED panel from Chinese market, then I took the hammer and bent some super-duty fender from one sheet of metal».

The cabin got several new interior colors, including red and blue, and the panels on the dashboard also have a big variety of wooden trim. The only letdown is a lack of new steering wheels, decorated by the matching type of wood.

Of course, the front logo allows to install the Convoy movie duck, and some other figures. In combination with a certain logo and figure, you can make a double horny truck .

Almost every bumper, sun visor, grille, mirror set has chromed and painted options, and the log protection behind the cab can be replaced by a very shiny chromed cabinet — it’s basically a huge mirror, so I would like to see the painted one instead.
Of course, there are mostly «normal»-looking parts... well... maybe except some bulky rear bumpers, which look like they were taken from Volvo or Mercedes tuning pack DLC. The maniac-inspired content like a rail-reinforced rusty bumper from Duel movie is abscent here (the new black bullbars looks more scary ;D), although the light maniacs can find enough new orange LED marker slots to have fun. Among other parts which were not included, I think the extended grille I have seen on one photo years ago looks pretty epic (the guy just have welded two normal grilles together).

Speaking of truck washers: have you see them near service depots in Oklahoma? You can drive inside, and the interior looks pretty much like at the photo above.

I don’t expect to see the dirt and the functional cleaning services anytime soon (Mexico first! ;D), but it looks like a teaser.

I noticed in the video that all the Kenworth's had Washington license plates, reference of course to Kenworth's Headquarters.  Very cool.  Nice updates here! It sounds like the Tuning DLC is worth the cost. It is $3.99 USD.  I didn't see any special discounts.

The first truck washington depot I remember seeing you could drive through was in Texas.  I think someone posted a picture of it here.
