I knew it!  I have the evidence now!  SCS has been going back to old ATS map DLC's without tell us and have been updating sections of the map.  I have evidence!  They have been changing intersections as well as entire depots.  SCS is adding new business names and spreading them all over the map! There are dozens if not more changes.  But a few changes I can easily point out are...

The Voltison Motors in Spokane has now become a Lumen Auto.

The Walbert depot, Charged depot, and Home Store depot in Wenatchee have become Enterpriser, StarBridge, and Venture.

The Walbert store in Everett, Olympia, and Kennewick have become Shop Town stores.  Walbert's still exist.  Shop Town seems to be a red colored Walmart to a Target... kinda.

I have noticed SCS has been changing ai cars and completely redesigning old ones too.  It seems they are removing REAL LIFE references to a lot of them.

Dude, great slueth work.  That would explain why the older maps are always better then I remembered, lol.  They've been sneaking in minor changes all along.

The stream talked about a lot of things. Spoiler free below.

Overall it was pretty tame this time.  Nothing shocking was revealed.  Mostly stuff we know.  But their conversing did reveal that ETS2 now has two rework teams to match ATS.  We learned that one of the ETS rework teams is working on BeneLux and another is working on updating the current Scandinavia DLC.  It's not a complete rework, more or less some updates and improvements to the map and textures.

They did not reveal what the ATS rework team is working on after California, but speculation is one team is doing multiple things while the other is going to do Nevada.

They talked about Iowa, Louisiana, and Missouri.  It doesn't seem like any new ATS DLC's are coming out this year.  They talked about Nordic Horizon.

The other big highlight is the 8 new trucks/trailer/related things for ATS currently in development.  New Peterbilt's, Volvo's, Kenworth's, and Freightliner's.

7 new trucks/trailers/related things in development for ETS and they involve DAF, Mercedes, Volvo, and others.

Pavel touched on seasons . . . it's too big for them to accomplish anytime soon.  But he was open to unique "experiences" similar to how we have Winterland.  Unique little worlds for unique trucking events and conditions.

I am sure we will go more in-depth about all this as a community.

Seems like the faces were not the primary parts while developing these models .
The form-fitting clothes may be a distraction from not-so-perfect faces.

Here is an example of a store change.  This is the Olympia store.  It went from a Wallbert to a Shop Town.

It’s not an impossible thing to be bought by the other owner ;D.
Just like Coastline Mining-branded depots in NM were replaced by NAMIQ shortly before the Colorado DLC release.

Also, since the today’s blog post (200th in this year — more than ever before!) seems to be the final one in 2024, we may need to update the checklist.

For some strange reason, these fictional company actions have me interested in their expansions and acquisitions in the world of ATS. ;D  Lol!

The incorrectly oversized downtown buildings in Pendleton, Oregon have ALL been removed and the whole city area has been retouched and reworked.  I don't know when SCS did this, but it looks way better now.  This happened sometime in the last 5 months.

I think it's pretty clear now that SCS has people doing minor tweaks to old parts of the map and are not reporting it in game logs or blog posts.  I think this is helping them come back later and do more significant changes.  They may reveal this in the future.  I thankfully took lots of photos from the past and can compare, but SCS is certainly doing things behind the scenes.  It might explain those random Steam updates with no explanations.

I plan to head to Nevada and Arizona after I leave Oregon and see if they've done changes there.

This interchange south of Mojave is not fully shown on the navigation map, so expect to see more details in one of the next micro-updates.

Today I missed one turn on it, but there was one additional lane below the parts shown on the screenshot, so I had no need to cut a corner to return back to I-5.

Rather shockingly, for the first time American Truck Driving Simulator made more money than Euro Truck Simulator 2 on Steam.  According to Steams "Best of 2024" list which shows the top sellers, both ATS and ETS were on the list. Both games made the top 100.  63rd for ATS and 83rd for ETS2.

That has been posted before.  It is also here.

People are claiming that is is correctly not labeled... but I don't believe that at all.  It's a mistake.

Finally, more screenshots from this location ;D.

Also, I am closing my profile for this year. I see my drives were shorter than a year ago — and the shortest ones were, of course, between the depots on small Greek islands ;D.
