Hm. Cola may perhaps not be the best choice, with its sugariness and syrupyness.

And yeah Numbers.

Actually it was used as a medicine for stomach bugs by Native Americans in the past.
And you need a little sugar after you've been vomiting cause you loose so much sugars and salts.
Just need to sip it slowly is all.

Thanks, pal. :)

Yep... funny. Why is it, people living in completely different regions --and heck, countries-- (and happen to know each other) can get sick at the same moment?

Maybe somebody up there feels sorry for the first of us that gets sick, so they make others feel sick, so the first won't feel alone in their sickness?

Maybe I'm weird, is more like it. XD

Yeah I'm just sipping, going between the coke and water, tiny sips until my stomach has calmed down.

I'll attempt to eat something later, I got some yogurt in the fridge

For the ones not believing that Coke was used as a medicine.

Read through it. Didn't see anything about Squanto chugging Coca Cola with Santa and the polar bears. I only looked through the drop downs that would seem to have that information and didn't find anything relevant. If I'm looking in the wrong spot, direct me to the right one.

It says that it was originally formulated to be medicinal and uses certain ingredients that can be used medicinally. But once you combine it with whatever else they use to make it taste good and stuff, it doesn't seem leave much for therapeutic value.
Quote
Carbonated water
Sugar (sucrose or high-fructose corn syrup (HFCS) depending on country of origin)
Caffeine
Phosphoric acid
Caramel color (E150d)
Natural flavorings[55]
Everything else beside this about Cokes formula is top secret. Of these known ingredients, they don't seem very medicinal. Hell, did native Americans have access to cacao? That's a South American thing. Caffeine is on occasion used for headaches, as it helps relieve pressure by doing something with the blood vessels around the brain (as well as probably around your whole body). Carbonated water is used for stomach aches (bicarbonate of soda, and if pushed Sprite is the closest you can get if needed), but that's it on its own. Again, once adding all that high fructose corn syrup probably isn't good for that.

But throwing this all aside. This was invented in the 19th century (1886) sure, native Americans were still around (and are still around, I meant in their tribal state). But "Coke" was invented /after/ the Civil War. Yeah, I don't think ancient native Americans were using it. Perhaps they used a certain ingredient, but that's not the same as saying they drank and used Coca Cola medicinally.

*Shrugs* Whatever, mom gave me coke all the time when I was sick to my stomach, it has helped me.
I still drink coke when I'm sick, but you're not supposed to chug it, first it needs to be flat and then you take a teaspoon and take a teaspoon now and then.

Placebo effect works wonders doesn't it ;)
And that just seems needlesly complicated when I could have soda (just plain soda or Sprite) and be able to sip it. Rather than carefully measure out teaspoons to drink lol.

You guys stay in the sickness corner.  ;)  The rest of us will be over here.  I do hope you get better.

I've also heard putting something warm on your tummy can help you feel better. :)
