Retired? Unemployed? Un-hire-able? A mixture of things?
Some have said "unhireable", but I prefer to think of it as "too hip for the room".   ;)  After getting several jobs that each proved worse than the last, I decided to listen to my mom's advice and focus more on my writing and comic art.  I've actually been on SSI for a better than a decade now because of my health issues (caused in large part by my anger issues over said employment disasters), including a bad back and terrible shoulder pain. Really, between the Obama recession and the pandemic, I was way ahead of the curve on cutting my losses and simply opting out of the rat race.

I'm in the grind right now. It's just another week of work. It's a pain in the can, but it pays the bills.
