Har.  Those rivers are way too clean and the roads are too perfect.

So far all the river's and lakes I've seen in the countryside (using Streetview) have looked quite clean.

There was a 83MB update to ATS and ETS2 when I started to drive today.  Does anyone know what this update was?

I'm not sure what it changed, but it was part of the 1.42 update.

Usually, they even don’t make a post about minor update on their forum, if this update doesn’t bring something new into a game.
I always fear that some update will contain a map change, so my current long ride may cancel itself ;D (last time it happened a half of a year ago). Today I had 1100 miles left, but the update was not about the game world, so I was glad to have an ability to finish it.

I didn't see a post on the forums for what it was either.  Oh well.

It was a secret update to someday turn our computer's into real life transformers trucks.  It's a very secretive and slow process. ;) Someday we will start the game and our computers will transform into real life trucks we drive.  FACT.

I started in the UK and forgot I had to drive on the other side of the road.  This is very hard to remember every time and i have a hard time turning with these annoying guardrails in every single city!  It's so tight, especially all the ramps onto the highways.  The corners and guardrails are so tight.

I don't think any companies are gonna wanna keep hiring me to drive their goods.

For me, UK roads are not so scary (you can see the opposite lane much better than in a car, so there are not so much differences) as UK-specific trucks, when you need to learn your vehicle size again — even now I often scratch the guardrail when the position of truck is more to the left than I think at that moment ;D.
The funny short trailers are more easy to handle by beginners — but unfortunately, you can’t choose a trailer type when taking a quick job.

A normal long trailer brings more money for every ride, but almost every turn needs to have an S-shape.

After you will get used for it, the turns will not be so tight for you ;D.
BTW, making the turning paths is one of critical parts of site planning. At my current work I often see how my colleagues make some drawings of how the trucks will come in and out of new store or house parking. You can choose the type of truck, trailer (there are many familiar names like RM Double ;D), and the program will show how wide are all the turns.

Enjoy the culture shock you willingly signed up for! :D

Hahaha, it's not too bad.  You get used to driving on the opposite lane pretty fast.  But yes, the roads are very tight in some places.  Just remember, you can take it slow, and cut lanes if you have to.  You are learning.  Just use your emergency/hazard lights to slow traffic around you. :)

Thanks all.  My trucks seem so weak and slow too.  They struggle to tow these basic loads up even the slightest incline! I also can't reverse for the life of me with a trailer.  But I have been practicing.... mostly skipping that part though, lol.

I am slowly moving southward on GB so I can drive in France. ;D  But my deliveries are all so short, it takes forever to get there it seems.

I also clicked that image and read a lot of the skills from that Pro Drivers Handbook. ;D

As I remember, UK has several of Trameri bases, which are so small so game propose you to skip parking just after you drive through entrance arch ;D. I usually use the easy parking option, and even it is skipped when I use trailers like my current setup (oops, this paintjob doesn’t look very well on W900’s sleeper :-[) — the parking bonus is too small, so there is no need to use the difficult mode.

My trucks seem so weak and slow too.  They struggle to tow these basic loads up even the slightest incline!
I can assure you, a quick job in ATS gives you the slow truck more often ;D. Besides, the cheapest truck chassis in ETS usually have the biggest fuel tank, while in ATS tanks on basic trucks can be so small so you may need to refuel two or even three times during one New Mexico-Washington ride.
Well, later, when your level will be high enough, there will be a lot of lightweight and expensive cargoes like Helicopter or some unnamed Medical Vaccines (last winter there was an event where players could deliver the one specific vaccine :))), also, you will be able to buy some 700+ HP trucks.

Eventually in ETS2, Soda, you can buy a truck with like 750hp and never be worried about going slow with a load again. ::)

It's okay to skip the deliveries at the load depots... I do it all the time.

And to be honest with you Soda, if ETS2 isn't working out, give ATS as try.  It might be more familiar.  But I think you will get the hang of it.

I will start up ETS2 tonight and start playing both games.  I finished downloading it the other day.

Buuut... I think this DLC is not popular here ;D. Personally, I didn’t make any delivery from it — and it came out almost four years ago!
I wonder what else updates we will see till the end of this year? There’s two months left, so even if 1.43 beta test will start next week (unlikely ;D), the release date will be at mid-December. Big DLC’s like Russia or Texas are probably meant to be released in late winter (or even early spring), so I have no ideas about other DLC’s aside from some surprise tuning pack — this year didn’t have one yet.

P.S. I think it would be good to have some light offroad section in one of the new expansion packs. We already have narrow dirt roads in both games, so how about some bigger locations like the sandy part of HT2 map? ;D

Wow, the commenters are trashing this for some reason.  A lot of people just expecting more free trucks and cargo.  How rude.

I am very happy about this (even though I don't do anything outside of external contracts).  I own all these special delivery and heavy delivery DLCs.  It's nice they did this.

I wish there were off-roading sections that could actually damage your truck with deep pot holes and rough terrain.  It's always just a textured dirt or gravel road and not much else.
