Nice photos! That El Paso freeway sign looks oddly out of proportion.  Since you brought up photo mode, YES!  That bugs me.  It also bugs me how it is an extra step to pull up the 'advanced' settings.  I don't want to have to press the space bar to access the tools we ALL use.  They even removed some tools like the FOV adjustment.

Yes, those cute teepee's have silly topless people with skirts on them. :D

Sorry, I am being negative today, but the San Antonio has the same skyline issue as Spokane.  They made this one building WAAAAAY to massive in side closer to the freeway.  I think they are trying to pull a perspective trick, but it makes the building WAY too big to it's real counterparts and throws off the skyline.  I won't go into depth, but they've now done this a few times with skylines unfortunately.

Despite me being negative, I am still LOVING this DLC.

Umm... well that's hard.  Because Those states are more visually interesting and beautiful while Texas isn't exactly beautiful.  What I love about it is it's size and all the new content it gives us.  Tons of new companies to see and new assets. I love it for that.

Washington DLC is so old now in comparison and is missing so much that these new DLCs can do visually and even just how SCS designs American cities more accurately.  I still hold Washington within the top 3 and Colorado maybe in the top 4.  Texas is great!  But it's hard for me to put it in the top at the moment.

As for the effort and work, 10/10, I can see the hard work in this.  Give me more time to drive around.  I still haven't driven east of Abilene... almost.

Good photos!  I've been so many of those locations... including the blimp bringing immigrants across the border... j/k ;)

You are such a whiny baby.   ;D

As great as Texas has been... I don't think so...?  I like it for other reasons.  Size, many cities, lots of open space, many new businesses. . . but it's environment isn't all that pretty, unless you like that style of environment. ;)  So if you base it on size and new businesses, it is certainly in the top 3.  But overall, I don't know yet.

What about you, Timothy?

It's my opinion and I will whine if I want too! ;D  [blobjoy]

We can have some criticism once in awhile to the greatest game developer of all time that most people still don't know about yet.

Stand aside Rockstar, Bethesda, Codemaster, etc.  SCS Software has you beat.

I didn’t see all the state, but I like all the scenery I have seen. Combined with the size, I think it’s definitely number one DLC.

Still trying to find any Arlen sign. Oregon had Gravity Falls one, so I expect for developers to continue making easter eggs.

I've been hoping to see an Arlen reference too!  I am thinking a sign or a propane related sign.  In real life, Arlen, Texas is shown to be a suburb of either Dallas or Houston... it kind of varied.  Later in the series it was more towards Dallas.

Well there are some good secrets.  I've noticed many roads on my drives that didn't have XXX's on them, but I couldn't drive into them because I was hauling too big a load or was driving by as I saw it.  I kept notes to go back and check them. :D

Really nice pictures on the previous page!

Some things I have noticed;

At night it seems darker in Texas than other states.

I keep underestimating the distance between things.  It is large.  Everything looks compact on the map, but the wide open distances is quite impressive.

The transition from the dry west to the hill country to the plaines to the coastal tidewaters are done very well.

Texas' road systems are the most different to anything we've seen in ATS so far.  Part of that is just how their department of transportation choose to design things.... their freeway off and on-ramps are so different.  They make use of this strange grid pattern with traffic lights under major interchanges, it's so weird and I am not sure even very practical.... but at least they are using the space?  lol

I like the flowers SCS has added.  Now they can do that an refresh other states with flowers as they would have in real life. ;)

The cities seem HUGE and sprawling.

Well, in ETS (especially before the lighting engine update) there were a HUGE difference between Italy and Finland at night ;D. If the map has stretched so much from the north to the south, the difference in night darkness must be implemented anyway.

Even if I had not yet discovered much of the roads in the new state, at least all the cities are yellow now.

Near Fort Worth there are a roller coaster photo trophy, but at south to it is another interesting stuff: the cargo base is so huge, so it even has its own filling station. For the first time I even thought it’s some kind of branded truckstop ;D.

The skyline of Houston doesn’t look super impressive for me.

The airport located to the north even has a silhouette of the biggest cargo plane on its map — unlike a solid square of Albuquerque airport with the same plane ;D.

Need to look at the space center near Houston. It must contain a lot of screenshot-worthy material ;D.

That makes sense since it is the only way to get in currently.

Not from that angle!  There is a great angle from the freeway interchange thing.

There are a lot of out-of-proportion buildings in this Texas DLC I am noticing.  Especially when driving on a freeway next to a big city.  I know they are doing it to make the buildings closer look bigger than the building further away, but it's quite noticeable.
