The best part of the new DLC is how the wild vegetation is detailed. As in previous state, the trees definitely don’t look as they were arranged by someone, and the wild sunflowers can be found almost everywhere. A big progress since the oldest parts of ETS2, where we also could see a lot of sunflowers, but only as a space-filling fields (a rough equivalent of crates in big halls for Half-Life-type shooter ;D).

As a player who uses the «teleport to service station» function very often (which allows me to build the optimal routes), I am happy that 12 out of 14 cities have these stations available. The lack of the service in Tulsa was very disappointing (I always needed to drive there, if I wanted to take a cargo from that big school bus factory), and the developers have finally added it in 1.49, along with the roads to Kansas.

The lack of services in Tulsa is honestly inexcusable.  That would be one thing that I see as a negative.  How does one of the largest cities in the state not have a service station?  Thankfully it was remedied.

You know what I love.... when someone posts a post that is a trucking journey.  I love those posts.  Anyone working on one? :D

Tulsa didn't have a service depot?  :-0

I am not working on one.

It did not.  But yes, the vegetation is better now in these newer DLC's than ever.  I mean... it's been good for a long time.  Idaho was even quite good.  It's just so much better sense than even.  It makes the older western state DLC's seem more empty.  I do hope they retouch or rebuild aspects of all the older maps.  I just don't know which DLC they would choose.  I think after California, Arizona and Nevada need the most work.  Then from there maybe just go in DLC release order?  So Oregon then Washington.  I actually think New Mexico is very good, better then most early DLC's because it's such an empty state. ;D

I would finish CA, then do a heavy overhaul of Nevada.  Arizona and NM are fine because they are pretty empty, open states.  The more detailed places like Oregon and Washington can always use more detail, especially in the tree variety now that they are actually good at that in ATS, and the vegetation.  Mountains too.  The mountains lack in WA and OR.  ID too.

Tucson, Phoenix, and filling out Vegas always could use work.  Right now, in those older big cities, there is no urban sprawl and it seems so formulaic.

NV would be a good start point to branch off of.  A less heavily intensive state to work on, much like Kansas is.  Make some argricultural stuff, some trees, and your good for filling in the rural bits.

Only the photos made in southeastern states — «old» part of the map, as we can say. Judging from the photos, Cascadias have taken over all trucking companies... OK, the red Peterbilt can also be seen in the corner ;D.

The experimental Freightliner trucks, as we can see in the video from yesterday’s post, are also mostly built from Cascadia.

I'm glad they are having fun on their "research" trip.  ;D  I love how they are driving a massive GMC Suburban.  Probably the biggest civilian vehicle they will ever be in.  It's practically a small home inside. ;D  Perfect for traveling the vast expanses of the southwest.

So this confirms our conversations here the other day.  Re-vamping the southwest seems to be something they plan to do.

They are traveling in luxury. ;D  I noticed the rental SUV has Montana plates.

OK, now both ATS and ETS have two tyre pack DLCs. The paintable sidewalls look pretty modest, although I like to see more highway-oriented tires for the highway trucks (the ones from Goodyear DLC look a bit too offroad for my taste ;D).

My small complain is the same as about the Goodyear DLC — no smaller tyres for stepdecks, again .

Some quiz with a geo-location of Arkansas landmarks ;D. That cola-filled river looks creepy for me.

P.S. Ugh, that imgbb is sleepy last several days.
