I like how big the space is between marked towns in this DLC. :D Plenty of open space.

I cannot wait! I am so glad this release comes out on THANKSGIVING DAY! :D Perfect to truck all during our four day holiday week here in the US!

Also I am glad they went all out with the Volvo cover.  It needed to be. Technically three Volvo's on the cover. ;D

That map is HUGE!  Not to mention the entire rework of the previous parts of those countries! I am working my way north for the release tomorrow.

The map is so huge so I can’t fit it into one unzoomed screen (changing the map orientation doesn’t help):

So, my first delivery is from Bergen to Ivalo along the northern coast. I see the path to Trondheim has four (!) river ferries — as I remember, the whole pre-1.57 ETS map had only one ;D.

Also, if you like the Forest Machinery DLC released with the Washington state, now you can buy it for ETS as well.

If any of you are going to wait for the sale, it will be rather difficult ;D.

Drove into Finland through Estonia.  Absolutely awesome so far! I am taking photos I plan to share later. :)  Finland finally living up to its reputation with this DLC.  A land of MANY LAKES!

Was able to get many discounts for this DLC, and thanks to the discounts, was able to get the new forestry DLC for very cheap including all the remaining paint job packs I didn't have.

The best choice for people who don’t like too expressive designs.

P.S. No Nordic Horizons scenery screenshots from me — go watch for yourselves ;D.
Unlike some comments I have read, I think winter is not absolutely nessessary to admire the northern Scandinavian landscape — to my surprise, the greenery looks very colorful even above the Polar Circle locations. And of course, the midnight sun helps not to miss some good landmarks at the time when the night is almost pitch black in the southern part of the map.
BTW, Norway have some interesting statues in the cities. This one made me to drive a little back and look closer in Photo Mode to make sure it’s not Pearl from Steven Universe ;D.

I really didn't notice the changes in the older parts of the map.  Did anyone else?  I guess they changed the foliage, but really the road network seems the same.  Most of my map was still yellow outlined roads.

Overall, LOVING this DLC.  I did six deliveries in Finland so far and now in Sweden. I haven't gone that far north yet. ;D

The Crown Victoria is an icon.  Forever will be remembered as THE POLICE CAR.  C:-)  The fourth photo, they knew exactly what they were doing parking it there beside the freeway.  People recognize that stance waiting for speeders! ;D  Lol!

I am sure one of the special paint options will be of course allowing us to paint the body different from the four doors.  Black and white and other police schemes will be rampant!

I guess they changed the foliage, but really the road network seems the same.  Most of my map was still yellow outlined roads.
In the parts where you see grey fragments mixed with yellow, the road remain untouched, but the trees and some of other background was updated. More significant changes like reworked road junctions (and couple of new cities in Denmark and Sweden) look fully grey.
BTW, I just noticed how the developers have changed the requirements for some achievements (it happened in 1.55, actually). Since the map has grown a lot and became more complicated since 2015 (when the first intersections with several separately paintable parts were introduced), now it is virtually impossible to open 100% of the map or buy all the garages within a reasonable amount of time, so today you need to buy some number of garages, or drive some number of kilometres to get the achievement. From the other side, the ones which require to open some number of cities in a new DLC instead of all of them are too easy ;D.
Also, previously I always made the preferable route length in Gameplay Options smaller when exploring all new DLC maps (and will surely do this for the upcoming Iceland and Ireland ;D) to get the bigger choice of cargoes for short distance. But, in Northern Horizons you can easily pick a delivery for 1500-2000 km without leaving the new map, so I have even increased that setup for exploring it.

P.S. Have you heard the new railroad crossing alarm? I don’t know yet did the developers changed all of them, but the one I just heard in Sweden is totally different — instead of tired «ding-ding... ding-ding...» there is faster «bom-bom-bom», and the sound itself is like glass bell ;D

^ I am definitely noticing some major visual improvements. I haven't been in the mountainous regions yet, but the trees certainly looks improved.  I am curious how the old parts of Norway's fjords and mountains look. I am sure they are improved.

Boom.

23 deliveries for total distance of almost 16600 km, plus three new garages — that mean I definitely like to be there ;D.

This DLC for ETS2 is my new favorite DLC.  It's just so enjoyable.

I see some YouTubers already have the upcoming ATS map expansion in early access.
It’s a major spoiler, but if you want to see Louisiana DLC map, you can look here — of course, the size is no match for Nordic Horizons, but the density of road network is impressive ;D.
