Of course, there are a lot of places where you can make photos from every directions!

As you can see, there is even a route opened before the actual paved road was made ;D.

I wonder if they will eventually go back and make the finished paved roads.  I remember a section in some of the Eastern European countries (I don't remember which one) that had unfinished highways being rebuilt to replace old two-lane roads.  They seem to update roads and routes with much more frequency in ATS than ETS2, but I hope they complete those roads in ETS2 too.

Wyoming is currently spending a lot of money for a rural state to increase their highway system to more major towns.  A notably glaring lack of freeway is noticeable if coming from the east in Evantson, and having to go to Casper.  There is no direct freeway unless you drive all the way across the state to Cheyenne than head north.  You can take local small highways (which I guess in a rural state like this, that is fine) but it would be so much quicker with a better direct route.  Usually every state in the US has these nice direct routes to every major town and city, so it was weird to finally come across a route that didn't exist easily.   It reminded me of all the smaller roads I had to take in ETS2 to get to places that didn't have direct motorways.

Nice photos, Timmelon and Captain R!

Now that Wyoming is out and released with a new truck... will SCS move to ETS2 updates for a bit?  Texas production is moving along as is Montana (which they haven't mentioned yet).

Nice photos everyone.

ATS is getting updates to the map faster and more frequently, yes.  I remember events such as the landslide on US 101 in California being a major timed event too, that was a lot of fun.  But there are some in ETS2 as well such as the recent Italian bridge construction.  I am willing to bet, when they gloss over states with some new shine, highways in construction will be completed.

I do not think ATS will become silent.  Maybe for a month, but as you had mentioned, there is a ton of development already well underway.  Part of the delay for Wyoming was to get more other states done so they wouldn't have long delays.  So we will be teased of the next state sometime this fall.

And this was funny.  I couldn't help but notice this man playing basketball at his house.  He has a large modest American home.  Appears to be middle class and living well.  He also funnily enough owns TWO Jeeps and has a THREE car garage that he doesn't park the Jeep Wranglers in. ;D

For many people, garages aren't for cars.  It's for their other junk. ;D

Since this is a topic about trucking and a trucking game, it is worth mentioned Peterbilt has revealed their new 2022 579 truck.

It looks different than the one in game and has a more modern appearance.  Inside things change too.  Give it a look if you wish.

Official Peterbilt 579 Page

This follows suit after Kenworth revealed their next generation T680.  You will quickly recognize the city Kenworth uses to promote the truck, in their home city of Seattle which is in-game in ATS!

How will ATS handle new appearances for old trucks in-game?

ALASKAN TRUCK SIMULATOR TRAILER REVEAL

And still even more news.  Alaska Truck Simulator has revealed their official trailer for their upcoming trucking game.  It's a different style trucking game, with elements of survival.  So it will be aimed at a different clientele.  No realistic stuff like ATS (which hopefully does Alaska someday).  This game unlike the SCS games will be on PC and on the Playstation 4 and 5.

If the new T680 will have the not-interchangeable body elements with the older one, with a 90% probability it will be done like it was with Scania R — they just added the separate truck model, and the old one was marked as Scania R 2012. Updated Renault T had minor changes, so the older model was just retrofitted with new parts (2020 Actros and FH, when they will make their way to the game, will probably be added as the new tuning options as well).

UPD: so, let the post marathon for the next DLC continue!
Yes, I think 20 km/h is a valid speed limit when the road can be too close to houses, especially if there’s a sharp turn ahead.

P.S. So, it took about twelve hours to eat a whole Wyoming map ;D. Of course, some of routes were made at night, so I haven’t seen all the landmarks yet. While Colorado DLC has much more mountain roads, Wyoming’s scenery looks pretty too, so this DLC is roughly at one level with previous one if you compare the screenshotworthyness ;D.

Just thought I would share with everyone I bought the game while it was on sale.

So you officially have a truckin' girl now here in the forums. ;D

I'm stuck having to drive for other companies it looks like, but when I can afford my first truck, I will share a picture with you all. :)  I did choose my HQ... which looks like a sad shed... I hope I can upgrade that soon.  I don't really know all the ins and outs of the game.  Any tips are helpful.

You all had me pretty curious and I wanted to drive around and see the country. :)

Yay!

As you could see from our posts, all of the map DLC’s are the primary must-have — the basic part of the map is pretty small. The cargo and paintjob DLC’s are secondary ;D. To dramatically reduce the game’s difficulty you can disable the fatigue simulation (pretty annoying thing ;D) — after that you will have LOTS of extra time to drive not only the shortest way and visit the nice-looking places to take some really nice photos there.

On low levels you are allowed to buy only the basic truck parts, so the lack of money is not the biggest problem. The good thing is the experience given by the quick jobs is equal to the freight/cargo market, the only difference is the income which is higher if you use your own truck. At level 16-18 you are allowed to buy practically everything. But I am not so patient (and quick jobs often give you too slow truck with little tanks, and you can’t choose the trailer type), so my usual way is to wait until I reach Level 6, when the ~450-hp engines, 200-gallon tanks and 13-speed gearboxes (the minimally decent level for me) become available, and take some money in the bank ;D. Then I use this truck until I can afford to buy a top-tier one, and the old truck goes to hired driver’s hands — the constant upgrades of the existing truck and selling your vehicles are actually not money-efficient.

For skill points you get after each new level, my recommendation is to fill the «Long Distance» first, then two points into «Just-in-Time Delivery», then one point into «Fragile Cargo» and «High-value Cargo» — that’s a quickest way to get access to all categories of cargoes. From «Hazardous Cargo» my favorite is Class 1 — the Dynamite is a very profitable thing ;D.

Hey this is great, Raine!  Congrats!  Lol!  I was wondering to myself if you'd pull the trigger and get it.  You seemed interested at times.

As Timmelon said, the maps are probably the best part for you to explore.  If you don't care about towing heavy stuff or paint jobs, just focus on the map DLCs.  I have access to some discounts and have an extra key to a few of the maps.  Just contact me and I will give them to you. :)

Just save your money early on.  It won't take too long to make $100,000 dollars in game and you can buy your first basic truck.  Or just save up to about $200,000 and you can get a loaded truck.

When customizing your truck, certain features will show you how it changes the performance.  In all honesty, if you don't want to focus on that, you'll be fine upgrading it anyway you want.  Just know that sometimes it can be harder towing really heavy things and more difficult turning if you have bad manueverability.

Also to remove some annoyances, you can end the game fatigue in the settings.  Also you might want to remove the ticketing system if you break road laws, which can also be removed in the settings.  It might be beneficial when first learning how to drive a truck and turning.

Also you can change the length of the jobs in the settings.  You can have more appear as long drives or short drives in the settings.

Alaskan Trucker has elements that are interesting, but I can tell it will have a lot of jank and not be a SIMULATOR.  More for fun.  Good luck to them.  Not interested anymore.

I'm loving the photos everyone.  Sorry I haven't had time yet to play.  I bought it, but have been so busy with work, and now yard work and football on Sunday, lol.  Sorry.  I really want to get to it, but life is being too active.

I love that Dam picture!

Also congrats, Rainberry!  I am so excited for you and will love to hear your perspective on things.

Thanks everyone!  You're all very kind.  Your advise has been put to use.  My goal is to just keep driving for these other companies a bit, save my money, and build up my rank so I can purchase what I want without having to rank up.  I will already be ready to go.  So in short, save money and rank up is what I am doing.  Then I will buy a truck and maybe eventually hire drivers.  I just found out I can do that.

I have access to some discounts and have an extra key to a few of the maps.  Just contact me and I will give them to you. :)

I really want to thank @MasterXtreme for some of the DLC's and keys he had.  I really appreciate that.  I now have EVERY map DLC. ;D  Wow.  That is insane!  I am caught up.  I had bought them all except for Colorado and Wyoming because they had these helpful bundle sales.  So thanks MasterX for the extra keys.

I just found out I can do that.
If honest, sometimes I miss this feeling after five years of learning everything about the game ;D.

So, since you have a whole map, the new levels will be earned faster — with all six squares in the «Long Distance» you can make three-hour journeys with a good bonus to skill points. And don’t forget about the autosave ;D — maybe loading the savegame can be considered as a cheat by someone, but getting zero dollars (after damaging a cargo more than on 2%) after two-three hours of playing eventually convinced me there is no shame in using the save after some bad thing happens.
