How long does the average open beta last?  We are in open beta right now.
1.44: April, 21 — May, 12
1.43: November, 11 — December, 9
1.42: September, 30 — October, 21
1.41: June, 17 — July, 15

So, it’s around three weeks.

For example, 1.44 open beta released April 21 and released May 12.

Edit: Tim and I were both researching at the same time.   ^b-

Thanks guys.  So if that's the case, three weeks, I will say it's possible we might get a late August release. ;D

I assume it's impossible we will get any ETS2 map release between now and Christmas.  Doesn't seem a HoR release will happen anytime soon with what's going on.

There could be a new truck and some reworked areas for ATS by Christmas.

ETS2 may have some DLC additions, but it isn't looking like a whole lot right now.

Originally it seemed like ATS might have two map DLCs this year, but now it's looking like one.  I don't see them releasing Texas around Christmas.

Part of me loves this old aesthetic of games.  This 18WoS photo makes me smile how they made due with what they had in gaming technology back in the day.

I'm still holding hope for a Christmas Texas release.  They will probably have a WoT event for ETS2 and ATS as well.

A correction: that was from HT2:KotR, not from SCS’s 18WoS series ;D, and I said this game didn’t have a mouse look (it was present only in beta versions ;D, and SCS’s games have much more cameras anyway), although I agree the picture looks good for 2001. The most nostalgic part is the presence of flying leaves — even if there are only green trees near you, you can see how autumn leaves are flying around. But... the map is so small, so you can visit all its bases and main highways in two hours — well, there are some hidden roads, but even with them the exploring of a whole map takes less time than single ride from Faro to Saint-Petersburg in ETS2. Also, not every truck is good — some of them are very unstable, some just have much worse brakes than other trucks. Although you can jump from one truck to another almost endlessly — there is no value loss, and buying the used truck and repairing it is cheaper than buying a new one ;D.

Speaking of Saint-Petersburg... The paintscheme from the latest ETS paint job pack seems to draw a lot of attention of the border control guys, so when you need to deliver some frozen hake from Szczecin to Vilnius, go through Olsztyn, not Kaliningrad, or else you will have a lot of inspections ;D.

Before 1.44 there were only document check on Russian border, and now you may have an X-ray testing two times in a row — one time at one of the gates, the second time in that building with X-ray machine, taken from Turkey border control. I see SCS didn’t change its name very much, when I was expecting some bland-name like famous Frog/Tough pickups.

Be sure to keep running that route right through Kaliningrad as much as you can.  I am sure they appreciate your truck scheme and how you are delivering goods elsewhere but going through their slice of Russia to get there. ;)

Can we all agree the names "Frog and Tough" on the Ford vehicles in the game, is the worst and laziest names they could think of?  I mean come on, put some effort into it.  They are now putting effort into all the fictional businesses and their advertising.  Do the same with the fictional cars that look a lot like real life car companies.

For me, Frog has some «so bad, it’s good» charm, besides, the number of letters is the same!
From the other hand, Tough is stupid like Sonata Dusk’s taco dress ;D.

P.S. When I see that sitting dog on the third screenshot, I can’t stop thinking about this one:

Tough is bad.  That's like me going out there and naming a Nissan, SAD or a Volkswagen BAD, or a Toyota WEAK.  Come on SCS.  We demand better, lol. Frog and Tough are the only brands besides Volitson... which is also bad.  Gosh, they can't name car companies to sound somewhat realistic.

No joke.  I always think that too.  [excited]

Also, there is Mazda LOL'd

Gosh, they can't name car companies to sound somewhat realistic.
At least it’s a bit better than giving just names like Rockstar does.
I don’t really know what SoftLab did in 2001 to get all trucks in HT2:KotR licensed ::). It also was a small unknown company at that time... and yes, their next game have lost licenses for a half of vehicles.
As for SCS, well... Forerunner Aggressor and Majestic Across (the last bland-name truck in *TS universe, got the real name only in 2015) were not so bad as DAV and IVEDO, made in true Adidos fashion.

UPD:
So, after the very small updates for MAN TGX and Krone trailer’s rear bumper from the last year, this year gives us the licensed fifth wheels, invisible during the normal truck usage ;D. In fact, Anthems and Cascadias are already equipped with these devices from the day they came in ATS, and patch 1.45 is going to add licenced fifth wheels into ETS as well — I wonder how funny will the new highly-detailed coupling devices look on old MAN and Iveco ;D. Something tells me that other parts of named trucks will not be updated, but of course, I am glad to be wrong.

Lol!  She always reminded me of the Friday girl.

Also I was never a huge fan of Mazda's smile face grille era.  I'm glad that's over. ;D

It’s not the first post with truck stops from Texas (previous one was in February), but this time there are more screenshots and no filling stations on them ;D.

In real life, I would probably have to use the facilities at several of those because I will have drank too much water while driving. ;D
