About the blogs: it's too bad Nature and Lewis & Clark were removed, those seemed like they had great potential. I was really looking forward to see how Marias Pass, Homestake Pass, and the Missouri Canyon were handled, and those would have likely been covered in those blogs. The special transport and weigh station blogs are usually filler, and the fact that they were kept on the roster instead of content-heavy posts makes me think a couple things: 1. SCS doesn't want to spoil too much. One of the best parts of exploring a new state is discovering things that weren't already shown; examples include much of US 191 between Vernal and Hoback Jct (some of the finest scenery in the game, IMO, and the only bits shown before release were the gorge of the Hoback and the Flaming Gorge Dam), Galena Summit and the valley of the Salmon, and Garden of the Gods. With more of the state open for discovery, people will be more excited to check it out. 2. Maybe weigh stations will have added functionality starting with MT, and that's why that blog post was prioritized. As for special transport, maybe Montana will also bring some new features, like new cargo, ability to stow your oversize load banners/flags/beacons in your truck and add/remove them without going to a garage, and only being able to drive during daylight hours (a lot of states mandate this, but sometimes oversize loads can only be moved at night, when there's less traffic). I'd say theory 1 is more likely. Features in theory 2 would probably be added with a major update instead, and wouldn't be tied to Montana. They would definitely deserve their own blog posts, though.
As long as Montana drops on a Thursday, I'm good. I try to work from home on Monday's and Thursday. The dlc is on my mind all day and I don't concentrate very well once distracted my ATS news, lol.
I did sneak a peak and they seemed to capture the vibe pretty well. Havre to Glasgow. Did anyone notice if MT-66 ran into US-2 or only US-191? Not watching much to keep the surprise.
Watching the stream and Montana is looking awesome! However, I feel like there are too many Gallon Gas Stations, but that is just what I think, don't know if it bothers anyone else.
Holy guacamole,
US-2 goes east of MT-16!

[strike]Are we getting some sort of Geotechnical depot northwest of Bainville? Or does it only take us to the rest area on the outskirts of Culbertson, I couldn't tell?[/strike]
I didn't pay attention to either of those but MT-16 will link Culbertson to Sidney. Its a route we speculated.
That unloading spot at the beets company in Sidney was really cool! It's neat to see more unique unloading areas added to the game.
Something else we saw during the stream was a Weigh Station with a closed sign on it? That seems new.
That’s what I’m saying, and they specifically called it out on stream as new. We might be heading towards hours of operations for weigh Stations. Or they could just be randomly open and closed, but I choose to believe the more detailed answer.
Sheeps and dogs
Despite not being prefab, I found this "market" to be cool:
Gallon is being used way too much. Just in their small trip almost every single gas station was Gallon. IRL every single one was a different gas station (Conoco, Exxon, Coop, etc.). More variety is desperately needed. I don't want to read too much into the weigh station just yet, but it is interesting that it seemed to be closed. Based off of 2015 street view, it seems like it is in working order (unlike the other weigh station earlier in the trip). Maybe weigh stations are finally becoming more functional, or maybe it was just a design choice. Also, its great to see every single parking lot or side road blocked by barriers or gates (not).
Oh I doubt there are only Gallon in the entire state. But it doesn't look promising so far. There are only really 3 regular gas station companies in the game to begin with so there isn't much of a variety in the first place.

Couldn't they use an invisible wall instead of a gate? It would make things look a lot more realistic. Having the gates and barriers at the entrances to every single parking lot sort of ruins the immersion. I'm not even asking for them to make the parking lots drivable; I know that isn't likely to happen. But do they really need a visible gate or barrier when an invisible wall will do the job just fine?

Agreed! Almost no market has this type of gate, I don't understand why they put it on. In fact, the only thing I can think of is that sometimes they don't fully understand some details. Because, if it's something for people not to enter the parking lot, the invisible wall already solves this problem. But the invisible wall is always used by them, so... I don't understand why they keep doing this kind of thing. But I could be wrong(Not about invisible walls, because all their scenarios have them).
At first, I was slightly disappointed that the stream didn't show anything of the Rockies. Sure, I know most of Montana isn't actually mountainous, but I still hoped for some breathtaking views in that part of the state.Anyway, after seeing the stream and then seeing parts of it a second time:Nice drive though what clearly is a strongly agriculture-oriented area. Reminds me of what we have in northeast Wyoming, but more packed with farms and rural settlements. And amidst all the fields, suddenly a bridge across one of the mightiest rivers of the US, the Missouri. (Ok, to be fair, it's not that huge yet at this point, but I still found it a beautiful spot. And it's still the Missouri river, which is awesome.)Special compliments for the vegetation team. It seems there are a lot of different grass and shrub types. This subtle variation is a quiet yet important part of the world's atmosphere.(And of course, yes, all these big grain silos... Very nice!)
Remember that prefab some users were talking about a few days ago, well, it showed up more completed in today's stream.
Nice spot! That definitely seems to be the one we found in the map editor, yeah. Tidbit seems like the most obvious designation for that prefab, but hopefully we'll see it used for other companies as well (seeing as they can fit pretty much any building on it). Charged would be overdue for a new market prefab for example.
Something that has not been mentioned here yet is a new option coming to the game which will allow us to turn off the 'XXXXs' that block roads we can't drive down. So if you want to get fully immersed, they can be turned off now, just like how they don't appear in photo mode (the best minor thing they've ever done).
I learned from the live stream that apparently no one thinks Australia exists.
I learned from the live stream that apparently no one thinks Australia exists. Never heard that one before. Also I love the fence in the road. It's like a dev put that there to probably remember something or prevent people from going that way.

As I know, Saltzburg have the most popular «no kangaroos»-themed souvenir shop.
