Didn't expect to see a blog update before the new year.  Looks nice.

There were some streetcars in previous cities.  I think Italy has some running, though they are all in a straight line.

Has the Dacia Duster civilian car always been in the game?  I saw it in the latest blog post pics.

This is my fav pic of them all!  Look at that cool old freight train!  I love the varied trains by country in ETS.  Wish there were more trains in ATS than they have, lol.  I like trains.

The Duster has been in the game since the Turkey expansion.

You like trains?  Who likes trains?  j/k   ^b-

It looks like this in-game.  The rear reads "Monster."

I realized I have never seen these two cars below in ETS.  One looks like a Smart car with a Fiat mustache and the other is a Citroen.

As a little remark: this M62 locomotive was originally intended for export and military needs — it has a bit smaller size than usual Soviet locomotives to fit into European tunnels ;D.

The "Smart" car can be found in urban areas of Italy, though it's no common.  The Citroen is also not common and seen in France.  I've seen it in rural countryside areas.

If I remember correctly, Soviet Union trains ran on a slightly larger gauge than the rest of Europe.

A gauge different is not a defining value. The wheelsets are easily replaceable, but you still need to have a bit more low and narrow body to fit into the tunnel.

BTW, if the map will go further into Russia, they should add more iconic locomotives with reverse-sloped windshield ;D.

Most of Europe is a different size than the Europe "mainline."

That's helpful.  Thanks.  I had no idea Finland was doing it's own there with their rail gauges, lol.

It’s actually the same (actual tolerances are bigger than 4 mm) ;D.
When the Russian gauge was introduced, it was a round number of feet — 5' or 1524 mm. In 1970-s the number was rounded in milimeters, and that’s how they got 1520 ;D. The Finns just didn’t want to change the documents.

Also, some borderline railways (before the train will reach the station with wheelset swap) can have 1520 mm in Poland or Slovakia, and 1435 mm in Ukraine and Belarus.

And here is the size difference between Russian and European railway:

The overall height difference is small, but the roof is much more rounded.
