The cleanest Russian factory ever.  We need to dirt, trash, wear, tear, grim, dirt, mud.  This needs to look like Russia.  Not some perfect fairytale business.

Texas looks boring like Wyoming.

Do you play ATS?

I have bought all the map extensions and the game, but I stopped playing it after Arizona.  It wasn't as good as ETS2.

Just wait till they add winter into the game.

You are indeed and expert at ATS then.  You've missed out on a lot.  Maybe you should give it a try before you knock it... since ETS2 is exactly the same game... just a different setting.   ::|

The chances of them adding seasons in these games?  I've never heard them talk about it.  I know you were playfully commenting, but is there any truth to seasons someday, maybe?

We keep getting teased at all the bus stations and bus stops, but still no buses to drive or a different game using the same map but driving buses instead.

Dirt buildup would be a fun thing to see.  Since we were talking about Russia from that blog post, I decided to drive into Russia for the first time in ETS2.  I am pretty disappointed.  A lot of it is just forest, event around the big cities.  None of it seems as nicely detailed as other parts of the map that came out in the same DLC.  Everything was also way too pristine, though when I did my drive in, it was stormy, which helped bring the mood down a bit.

I know things are nicer and more modern in and around Saint Petersburg, but even that, everything was too modern and pristine.  None of the roads around the map seemed to have potholes or wear.  It was just an overly glossed over part of the map.  The details weren't nearly as good in this part of the map compared to even a country like Estonia, or the other Baltic states.  I was pretty let down. I was even more disappointed in a part of Saint Petersburg where I ended up in the heart of the city, but it was so basic, so devoid of life.  The city center is supposed to be beautiful and full of historic buildings.  It just seemed so bland, dead, and no people.  I didn't see a single person anywhere in Russia except at the border stations.  We need life in the cities.

I will say they did detail Kaliningrad much better than the heartland part.  Hopefully when the new DLC comes out, they can touch up on the older part of Russia, make it look better, and add some wear and grime.  Here are a few photos I took from my adventure.  Only three.

I was first greeted by this shining beacon of depression.

Followed by this, where SCS didn't even fill in all the grass.

And then this, where it is fully exposed to the player, but looks incomplete.  That one container is partially in the ground.

See what I am saying?  It all seems so empty, devoid of life.  Why are there these massive empty fields right in the middle of a city as well?  It's kind of disappointing.  They did so much better on the other Baltic states.

So, in the near future we will finally have an ability to take this forum-specific cargo ;D not from some resellers, but directly from its manufacturer. I can say I like the design of that brick building with sloped roof — looks like the factory has long history and the brick building is the last remained original part of it.

I was thinking the same thing about the brick building!  I like it there.  Some really nice photos of these new prefabs.

It would be so cool to be able to take goods from the source (the farm) to the mill then to the grocery store. ;D

I have to agree with some points.  There are parts of the Russian map so far that seem kind of glossed over, but I cannot let you call them out on things that are accurate.  I did a quick look-see and found the spots YOUR pics are on the REAL map. :D  Open fields are a thing. ;D  Clearly, SCS really glossed over a lot of the industry and grime on this real route they choose, but a lot of it is indeed forest, which you complained about not feeling like being in a city.  This route sort of goes around a lot of the city in the northeastern portion.  But as I was saying, a lot of the industry and dirty old buildings were ignored by SCS.  They also ignored cooling towers to nuclear power plants, which one of the photos you took should actually be visible in!  The motorway, while pretty modern and clean in some spots, was also quite worn out and pot-hole filled in other parts, another thing, SCS completely ignores in their rendition of Russia (so far).

So below are your pictures @Tüsszent and photos I found of nearly the exact same spot.  SCS did a good job overall.

I don't remember if I shared this, but I came up with a new design for my trucking fleet in ETS2 and I am really loving it.  It's colorful and happy.  I wish I could carry this design to ATS too, but I can't.

Great photo comparisons @Graymist!

Love that design @Captain Ridiculous!  It looks real sharp on that Renault.  I don't see people use the Renault much, but you got it looking terrific.

Great photo comparisons!  I love that!! That is one of my fav things to see.  SCS really did clean it up, that is for sure.

I haven't driven enough into Russia to know if it seems empty or not.

Also love the truck, @Captain Ridiculous!
